COFFEE CHAT: ASSORTED TIDBITS…

Welcome to another Coffee Chat in which we share some bookish (and not so bookish) thoughts.

It’s Wednesday night, and I’m about to settle in to watch more episodes of The Handmaiden’s Tale, Season II.

Earlier today, I had coffee with a friend at Barnes & Noble.  This is where we go to inhale our caffeine and share the past month’s events.

  • My exercise bike is getting more of a workout this week.  Something about having my bloodwork done on Saturday…and wanting to get those numbers down.  I discovered how to peddle away for longer periods of time:  Queue up a movie on the DVR…and watch it while working out. I had thought of doing this before, but I kept coming up with excuses to just sink back into the bed pillows and watch TV from a supine position.

  • Moving furniture is a kind of exercise, too, right?  I did rearrange some things in my bedroom, switching chairs, etc.  The chair in the back corner was in the office; the bench at the foot of the bed was in the living room.

That’s my summary for the week.  What did your week look like?

I absolutely love how time slips away when you are cycling while tv watching. That seems to be your perfect solution! Good for both body and soul! And those numbers will most likely drop, too!

    1. Thanks, Patty, and I like how this solution seems to be working. Yesterday, though, I did my cycling at night after a busy day…and I was pushing myself, feeling very tired. So…do it only in the mornings, I tell myself! We learn.

      Enjoy your weekend.

  2. Paid some big bills and am enjoying the sunshine in the yard. Picking the few dandelions too, before they spread. Taking the flowers and buds seems to be enough, no need to remove the whole plant, I think.

  3. I love to watch movies or tv shows while on the treadmill. I’m a morning exerciser and even then, I have to do it before I find reasons not to. I hope you see good results with your blood tests!

    1. Thanks for visiting, Kathy, and while I am addicted to the Hulu show…and loved the book, “enjoy” is probably not how I would describe it. But I’m hooked. And I do rave about it.

In some ways, it is scary, since I can imagine our current world of chaos turning into the Gilead of the show.
