Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
Where did the week go? Here we are in October, and I can almost smell the turkey roasting in the oven for Thanksgiving! I certainly hope my surgery is behind me by then. It is tentatively scheduled for early November, in Oakland.
This week was full of appointments and shopping trips…but I did manage to read and review two books, and I wrote seven blog posts. Yes, I got a little carried away with looking back in my archives and revisiting some old ones. My blog makeovers continued, too, including this blog’s header and background.
I’m ready to grab another cup of coffee…join me for a Cup of Joe.

CURRENTLY READING: I am loving The Testaments, by Margaret Atwood…halfway finished.
I have several other books patiently waiting on my TBR…so my mood will dictate what I read next.
My NetGalley ARCs are all finished until January. Yay!

That was my week. What did yours look like? Today’s dessert is one I thoroughly enjoyed: Cheesecake, with a small glass of wine (since it was Wine Wednesday in the residence…LOL).
***
That is a VERY small glass of wine. I hope you’d had a few sips before you took the photo! Impressed you’re so up-to-date with your NetGalley ARCs – well done! Enjoy your reading and blogging this week. By the way, one of the authors I saw at my local literary festival this week – Adele Geras – who has a novel coming out next year under the pseudonym Hope Adams, is the mother of Sophie Hannah, whose book I see in your new acquisitions.

Thanks, Cathy, interesting news about Sophie Hannah’s mother. I’ve been a fan of Sophie for a few years. Must check out her mother!
Yes, I had some sips of the wine before snapping the photo.
Enjoy your week.

Love the makeovers! And ooh Thanksgiving haha- always a favorite holiday of mine (food, naturally) so I’m with you on that one!
The Lying Room- hmm. I’ll need to take a gander at that one.
Have a nice weekend 🙂

I do love Thanksgiving but your comment made me shudder because it’s at my house. Everyone helps by bringing a dish so it’s not that bad. Since time has a way of sneaking up on me lately I need to make a list…
The Susan Isaacs cover has me heading over to Goodreads. Have a great week, Laurel!

Thanks, Mary, hosting Thanksgiving is definitely stressful, even with people bringing things. Good luck with it.
I hope to love the Susan Isaacs book; I haven’t read her in a while.
Enjoy your week.

Delicious looking desert! All your books are unfamiliar to me but they do look like your kind of reading. Yes the year is slipping away, it is so hard to believe. I do hope all will go ahead for your op and then you can really relax.

I love seeing that you had coffee, cheesecake and wine this week. My favorites.
I thought Testaments was as strong as Handmaid’s Tale, and that’s saying a lot. I hope you do, too.
I’m glad you have your surgery scheduled. Sending good thoughts and prayers until early November.
Have a great week!

Thanks, Sarah, The Testaments does bring up anxieties for me, imagining that Gilead could be a reality at some point.
Next I plan to read something light!
Enjoy your week.

Thanks, Trin, I hope you enjoy the read. When I first starting my “makeovers,” way back in the day, I did simple things. A header. A theme. Then I started really enjoying the process.
Have a great week.
