WEEKLY UPDATES: A BUSY WEEK…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.

Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

What a week!  I only read and reviewed two books, but they were good ones.  I also spent time viewing shows online, one of which was an old favorite that I had never seen before in its entirety:  Sex and the City!  What fun.  I’ve seen the movies based on the show, but I liked going back to the beginning for the four friends in their early Manhattan days.

I also enjoyed another episode of Gaslit, on Starz, and a show called The Deceived.

On Friday, I had a doctor’s appointment, and I was exhausted afterwards!  I saw the doctor, but also had two shots and bloodwork!  One of the shots was my second COVID booster, and the other was for Shingles.  Fun stuff, LOL.

Today I will be joining my daughter for lunch at Mad Duck.  Guess what I’m ordering?  Fish and Chips.

For all mothers out there, have a happy Mother’s Day!

Now…let’s take a closer look at my week.

That was my week.  Books, movies, shows, and outings.  Packages arrived almost every day!  Just replacing needed items, but also adding some dishware…as if I needed any more!

I’ve never seen all the episodes of Sex and the City. But the ones I did watch where great.

  2. Have a lovely MD with your family, Laurel. We’re having brunch at our house with my hubby handling things (he’s actually the better cook) and me not lifting a finger. 😊

So nice to meet a fellow Sex and the City fan! I started watching the series from the beginning recently too after falling in love with these characters again watching And Just Like That. Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you have a great week.

Glad you were able to go to the doctor. This week I went to the theater and they were checking for booster shots before entrance(so thats a thing now)

Happy mother’s day Laurel! And I wonder when they’ll give or if they’ll give a second booster to non immuno defficient people here.

  7. A second booster, so that would be your fourth Covid shot? I know they are considering that here but haven’t heard if they decided yet. I do know your Shingles shot is far more effective than our one here. Ours is not highly effective but I had it anyway. Still waiting for The Homewreckers to arrive in my letter box, another week maybe.

    1. Thanks, Kathryn, I am glad the second booster was available here. And yes, four shots for COVID!

When they poked me with the Shingles shot, they said it would hurt more than the one from years ago, and I guess it did, but it wasn’t bad. Only sore for a couple of days.

But I was so tired today I took a long nap, and that was also listed as a side effect. But now I am up and raring to go for the rest of the day.

      Enjoy your week.

  9. Happy Mother’s Day! Glad you had a good time! I haven’t gone back and watched Sex and the City in years, but I have no doubt it was a good time. Fly Girl sounds interesting to me, have a great week and happy reading!

I looked at new dishware this week too. I didn’t buy it because I don’t need and don’t have anywhere to put it, but I was really, really tempted. I should schedule my 2nd Covid booster. I’m overdue for some bloodwork too. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  11. You sure had a busy week. Love the new dishes.

How nice that your daughter took you to lunch. We moms deserve some special treatment.

Furious Love and Fly Girl sound fascinating this week. Hope you have a wonderful week. Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog.

  12. I love the dishes! My husband got his 2nd Shingles vaccine and his Covid booster the same day a couple of months ago and felt like he had been hit by a truck. Luckily it passed in a day or two and it was so much better than getting Shingles or Covid! Your Mother’s Day lunch looks lovely. I hope you are having a wonderful week!

    1. Thanks, Carole, I am slowly adding dishes to my cabinets, but they are casual and fun and not part of a big set. I can play with patterns and colors to fit my mood.

I had a great Mother’s Day. I hope yours was good, too.

  13. I hope your Mother’s Day fish and chips were suitably delicious! I have so many happy memories wrapped up in that staple British dish… And it was certainly a week full of events that aren’t necessarily full of fun and giggles – here’s hoping this week is an easier one all round and you are reading some lovely books:)).

    1. Thanks, Sarah, I developed a fondness for fish and chips after my eldest son came home from his semester in London (years ago). He taught me the deliciousness of the dish. Now I think about those days when I eat it!

      Enjoy your week!
