WEEKLY UPDATES: MOVING ON…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

Good morning!  Here I am again, finally, after missing last week’s updates.  This week has been one of settling into my new space and visiting with my eldest son from Prague.  Last Sunday, family members met at Yard House for lunch…and then I moved into my new little apartment.

Midweek, Craig and I enjoyed an outing to one of my old favorite places:  California Pizza Kitchen.

BLOGGING:

No blogging this week.  But I did read and review two books:

Those People, by Louise Candlisch – Mrs. Everything, by Jennifer Weiner

INCOMING BOOKS:

Empty mailbox.  I purchased one new e-book…

I’ll Never Tell, by Catherine McKenzie

What’s next?  More settling in…and adjusting to the new normal.  Here is the dining room adjacent to our apartments.  I like eating lunch in my apartment, but dinners in the dining room feel festive.

Here is my favorite section of the apartment….my office space:

  1. I’m so glad your son from Prague was able to spend time with you. Love the family photo. And I would want my books with me so I hope someone can make that happen for you soon. Are you doing physical or occupational therapy? I’m sure your days are a bit busy with all the changes. I hope you have a good week and I’ll look forward to your thoughts on the new McKenzie book.

    1. Thanks, Mary, and yes, lots of changes. I have physical therapy twice a week, and I’m hopeful that I will regain my strength. I still have surgery to get through in July.

Enjoy your week, and I have been very pleased to have my eldest son in town. He goes home tomorrow, though. Sigh.

  3. That’s a lovely family group shot. So nice to have family visiting while you’re getting used to your new place. And it’s great that you’ve been able to get some reading done. I’ve got Mrs. Everything coming up too, so I’ll go take a look at your review. Hope you keep getting stronger!

I’ve been following your move on Facebook (or is it Instagram?). It looks like you’re settling in well. Nice to have the option to eat in the dining room.

  5. What a wonderful get together. Love the name of the restaurant.

    Your new place looks beautiful.

Going to check out your reviews of THOSE PEOPLE and MRS. EVERYTHING. I read THOSE PEOPLE but haven’t read MRS. EVERYTHING.

Wonderful to see you back. 🙂

  7. So good to see you back online, a busy time with supportive family and moving in. I like the option of being able to do what you like in your apartment and eat there if you want. All the best for the next stage of settling in – such a big change thrust on top of you so quickly.

  8. Love the family picture Laurel-Rain! I do hope you are feeling more at home in your new place. Glad you have the option of dining with other or cozily in your own apartment. I hope you find some kindred readers!! Thoughts and prayers to you as you heal and look toward surgery in July.
