WEEKLY UPDATES: A GOOD WEEK!

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.

Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

Another great week!  I added more things to my space, and I even had time to read and blog more!  I finished four books and wrote seven blog posts.  I think the new apartment has inspired me.

Last week I mentioned adding a sofa to my space…and I did!  I am feeling very cozy now.

One of the books I read this week has been on my Kindle since 2018, but the upcoming Hulu original series inspired me.  I’m glad I read it.

Now let’s take a closer look at my week, starting with my new living room space.

    1. Thanks, Greg, I get so excited when books are turned into movies/series! Sometimes I am inspired to read a book languishing on my shelves when that is happening.

I am loving my living room!

Enjoy your week and your books/movies.

    1. Thanks, Kathryn, so far I’m enjoying the Backman book! It was on my shelves sooo long!

Loving the living room…I even changed out the TV stand from a table to a more appropriate and “thinner” stand, releasing my little antique ice cream table for other functions. LOL.

I was wondering how that ice cream table ended up in that “role” in the first place, and then I realized that my daughter and her friends set it up that way in my last place…and only in this move did I realize I wanted to use it in different ways.

      Enjoy your week!

The sofa is a great addition. Makes me one to come and stay now. I’ve been all about the pampering this week in particular, asking myself questions like, Does this suit me in this moment? It helps.

    1. Thanks, Trin, I am definitely enjoying the process of fixing up my rooms, since I have so much more space! Not as much as I did in the previous apartment back before 2019 (when I was whisked to a studio apartment by my kids!), but I think I now have just the right amount of square footage to spread out a little, but not so much that I’ll have to spend much time cleaning.

Enjoy your week and your books!

    1. Thanks, Susan, I am loving the process of adding to my space, and even putting together the new Wet Jet, which I had to do with the help of a video, as it is different from the last time I used one! LOL.

Enjoy your week, and I am eager to read The Guilt Trip.

  4. So pleased to you hear you’ve had a great week and that you are happy with your new apartment, Laurel-Rain – It does look like a bigger, lighter and more practical space for you to spread out in. 🤗

As for my week, I have just returned from my holidays, which were wonderful! Take care, happy reading and I look forward to catching up! 😎

  5. You got your sofa! That was quick and it looks wonderful… such a nice spot to sit and read, watch movies, etc. Everything has come together beautifully! I want to read that Backman book, and my daughter left her copy of Nine Perfect Strangers for me on her last visit to FL. It’s still there waiting for me and I hope to get to it soon. Have a good week!

    1. Thanks, JoAnn, I was happy that there were some sofas available in the Clearance section of the store, which meant I could have it right away. Otherwise, the wait time could have been six weeks!

I hope you enjoy Nine Perfect Strangers…and the Backman book is shaping up nicely, too. Have a great week.

    1. Thanks, Yvonne, after two years in my previous place, I was worried that I would be there forever! I almost didn’t even try to move to this apartment…and then one day, a few things happened in that previous residence that spurred me on. They were “last straw” events.

I do believe my reading and blogging will improve, too! Have a great week.

  8. I also enjoyed The House Guests and I plan to read another Emilie Richards soon. I see a few of them at my thrift shop bookshelves but they aren’t the first ones in a series. I suppose it’s ok to just jump in anyway. And ooh, The Guilt Trip looks really good! I hope the wildfires are not making your air quality too poor to be out and about. Sending good thoughts (and a very lovely, comfy couch!)

    1. Thanks, Rita, yesterday was a very smoky day, but the masks we have to protect from the virus also help keep out the smoke!

I am loving my couch and my apartment…and the books I am enjoying right now, too.

      Have a great week.
