Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.
Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

Another week has flown by, and happily my eye is better and I feel more like reading. One book read and reviewed. I wrote two blog posts, but I did some viewing, as usual. I finished watching Murder in the First, on Hulu, and I am on Season III of Damages. Both are shows I watched in the past, but I am loving them again.
Now I am ordering my grocery delivery and keeping one eye on my phone, which is how I know what items have been shopped. If something needs changing, they text me.
I do not know how I managed shopping back in the day! I had to actually go to the store. That all changed with the Pandemic, and also since I no longer have a car and don’t like the idea of grabbing a Lyft to shop.
Now…let’s take a closer look at my week.

COFFEE CHAT: ANOTHER QUIET WEEK…
Review: The Love of My Life, by Rosie Walsh
***
INCOMING BOOK:
The Light We Carry, by Michelle Obama
***
That was my week. I enjoyed relaxing and did a little cooking. My Fish and Chips was another treat this week.

Grocery delivery and fish and chips sounds and looks great to me! Have a good week.

I know! I had started using online grocery shopping pre-pandemic because it was just so much easier than taking Wyatt and I am never going back to in store. Lol. I am an online shopper for everything that I can be. Lol.
I am glad that your eye is doing better and that you feel more like reading again!

Thanks, Erin, I completely agree! I don’t even like to go inside any stores these days!
Enjoy your week.

I haven’t tried online grocery shopping yet. I can see it would be a great help when you don’t have a car! Hope you find time to read a good book this week.

Thanks, Terrie, the best thing about the grocery delivery is that the food arrives within two hours!
Enjoy your week.

Hasn’t grocery shopping changed! From the corner store when I was a child to now ordering online. Well we used to have deliveries back in the 50″s too, but such a different way of doing it though now. And so handy, although sometimes I like to go in and see what’s in 3D on the shelves! Happy for you your eye is so much better.

Thanks, Kathryn, I think I used to enjoy going into the stores, but in the years just before the Pandemic, it felt like a chore. I tended to eat out more and more.
Now, with the Instacart method, I love the online method of shopping.
I am glad my eye is better, too!

I used to deliver grocery. It was a lot of toll on the car.
Have a great week.

Thanks, Snapdragon, that would definitely be hard on the car. Enjoy your week.

Oh yes, having someone else do your grocery shopping is heavenly! I don’t do it as much as I could (mostly because I’m a control freak and want to choose my own produce), but it is a great option for when shopping is hard.
Have a great week!

Thanks, Melinda, I am grateful that it is possible to order deliveries without too much hassle. I am surprised at how reasonable the cost is, but then again, I don’t do a lot of fancy cooking.
Enjoy your week.

Enjoy your week.

I’ve never done grocery shopping on line. Of course, my brother does 98% of our grocery shopping, so I don’t have to. I put it on the list, or he notices I’m running low on something, and it just appears. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

Thanks, Kathy, it is nice to have someone else do the shopping, whether it’s online or a family member.
Enjoy your week.

I’m glad your eye is feeling better. I order almost everything online except groceries. But, the supermarket is less than 5 minutes away so it’s no big deal. I don’t really like to go to the stores anymore, so I try to put it off as long as I can. I hope you have a great week!

Thanks, Yvonne, when I had my car, which I sold when my daughter put me in that assisted living place for two years, I did live close to a supermarket. Now I am in an apartment and close to a grocery store, but I have gotten comfortable using Lyft.
I’m glad my eye is better, too.

Sorry about your eye! I haven’t been keeping up with blog visits lately. Thank you for visiting mine today! I’ve had Rosie Walsh books on my radar before but have never read one.
My husband likes to grocery shop, so we only order online if we’re both sick and can’t leave the house! (But I do almost all my shopping online these days. I feel guilty sometimes for all the packages. At least, grocery delivery isn’t using up any more than we would use ourselves going to the store!

Thanks, Laurie, I first started online shopping for clothes and supplies from Amazon, and then I discovered Instacart for groceries, which I really love.
Enjoy your books and your week.

A fairly quiet week at my house too – you’d think I would have read more but I didn’t. Only finished one book in the past ten days. I hope you enjoy your reading and the rest of life this week, Laurel!

Thanks, Mary, I have not been reading much, even though my eye is better. I can’t seem to stick with a book and I keep setting them aside! I hope this week will be better.

I just started going back to the store since there’s one across the street from my son’s gym. It feels so weird! And I have to say I spend more when I actually go to the store and see things!
Glad your eye is better.

I do hope your eye heals fully. My hubby did the grocery shopping online during the pandemic and then during the last year when he wasn’t well. I manage to only have to go about once a month, usually stopping on my way home from church.
I hope you enjoy your new book. Happy Reading!

Thanks, Martha, the best thing about the Pandemic for me was how I was able to switch to shopping online for most things. I still do.
I hope to have a better reading week in February.

I have continued to pick up my groceries each week rather than go into the store. I can see the day coming when I will have them delivered.
Hope your eye continues to improve, and that you have a good week!

Thanks, Deb, the fact that I gave up my car in 2019 led to deliveries, but I am loving this option.
Enjoy your week and your books.

I look forward to hearing if the Michelle Obama book is worth reading. I liked her bio book — but don’t know about this one. We are enjoying Season 3 of Jack Ryan at the moment but also mixing in a little White Lotus too. Have a great week.

I’m so glad your eye is better. Is there anything more worrisome to a reader than problems with our eyes?
If you only got to read one book…we’ll, you read a good one!
