Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.
Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

After a quiet New Year’s Eve, I hunkered down with my First Book of the Year and finished it in two days. I also did some viewing of movies and shows: You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, Ginny and Georgia, Season I of Echoes, and The Best of Me. I only wrote three blog posts, but I read a second book.
I then waited for an eagerly anticipated mail delivery…and it arrived on Wednesday. The replacement Mary Engelbreit cookie jar that I have been missing since my move of 2019.

Here are details about the week:
COFFEE CHAT: A RAINY HUMP DAY…
BOOKISH FRIDAY: “SLEEP NO MORE”
Review: A Good Neighborhood, by Therese Anne Fowler (First Book of the Year)
Review: The Disinvited Guest, by Carol Goodman
***
INCOMING BOOKS:
Sleep No More, by Jayne Ann Krentz

That was my week. What did yours look like? I am currently reading Ms. Demeanor, by Elinor Lipman, and it is already fascinating.
I think the rain has slowed down for the next couple of days, so I can hurry and take the garbage out! I hate sloshing through puddles.
Other than reading, not much will happen today, but I will find some more movies and shows to view.
Happy First Week of January!

Northern California is getting so much rain. I hope you are all coping with it well. Good indoor reading weather. Keep warm!

Thanks, Harvee, so much more rain than usual. It’s good to hang out indoors.

Okay more rain than usual, hope its not causing too many problems, rain is good but too much can cause damage. We have had it but where I am its been okay but it cut campers holidays short up north.

Thanks, Kathryn, I hate windy rain. When that happens, patio furniture falls over, including my umbrella. So far, nothing has broken, though.
Today had only a light rain, which I prefer, of course. Enjoy your week.

That cookie jar is adorable! My mom loved Mary Engelbreit as well. I have a teapot that my mom gave me when she moved that is Mary Englebreit – it is so colorful and cheery!

Thanks, Erin, I used to find items in one of our shops here, but haven’t been out to search lately. E-bay is where I’m finding things nowadays!

It’s so funny to hear all these people talking about rain. It’s below zero Fahrenheit here. 😊 Happy week!

Thanks, hibernators library, we used to be very dry, with little rain, so I guess it’s a good thing. But when it storms and things are knocked over and/or destroyed, not so good.

I hope Northern California hasn’t floated away this week. It seems crazy from I hear on the news. That cookie jar is the cutest thing! Did you ever watch the series Bad Sisters (i think on Apple+)? We finished it a couple months ago and it was pretty entertaining. Have a great week.

Thanks, Susan, I do hate all the rain, especially when it is a windy rain. Sigh.
I am very happy about my replacement cookie jar, and hope to enjoy the new week. I will look for Bad Sisters.

The cookie jar is so cute! I don’t mind a day or two of rain because it makes such good reading weather but I can only take so much! I hope it is drying up a little and you have a wonderful week!

We binged the Netflix show about Bernie Madoff over the weekend. Wow. I need some light viewing after that! I hope the rain stays gentle this week. California has really had a lot lately!

Glad you enjoyed your first book. I enjoyed mine too.
I hope you get the rain California needs without the flooding.
And rain is a nice reason to snuggle in a warm place and read.
Happy Reading!

Thanks, Martha, the rain we’re having is too windy, but luckily, the flooding here is minimal. I am staying indoors, though, and reading and viewing.
