Happy New Year!  I am eager to discover the good things of 2023.  Beginning with the First Book of 2023.  Then we will enjoy the books and blogging that will define us.

I only finished one book, but I am almost ready to close my current read.  I have written five blog posts, and I’ve been loving re-viewing Grace and Frankie, all seasons.  That show launched in 2015, so watching it again feels new.

I enjoyed some outings with my granddaughter and daughter.  And tonight, I will be sipping mimosas.

Now let’s take a closer peek at my week.

  1. Laurel : I hope you have a great New Year’s Eve & toast to 2023! Mimosas sound great to me. I’m not sure we ever make it to Midnight around here … but we enjoy the other time zones, lol. Wishing you a very happy 2023!

  2. You have some good incoming books. I look forward to hearing what you think about them.

    And your outings look like great fun!

    And to celebrate the new year…
    Here’s a bit from a lovely old (1850!) poem:

    “Ring out the old, ring in the new,
    Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
    The year is going, let him go;
    Ring out the false, ring in the true…

    Ring out a slowly dying cause,
    And ancient forms of party strife;
    Ring in the nobler modes of life,
    With sweeter manners, purer laws…

    Ring out false pride in place and blood,
    The civic slander and the spite;
    Ring in the love of truth and right,
    Ring in the common love of good.”

    And a toast: Here’s to a year of wonderful reads and small joys!

  3. The Disinvited Guest looks really good and I have at least one other book by that author on my TBR. It looks like you got some good family time in and had some yummy meals. I hope you have a wonderful week and happy New Year!

  4. Happy New Year to you, too! I need to finish (er, start and finish) the final season of Grace and Frankie. I really enjoy that show, but I just haven’t been motivated to finish it off. That’s a bad habit of mine, not watching the last seasons of shows I like! I guess I’m just in denial that they are over!

    1. Thanks, Melinda, I hate when a show finally ends! Not wanting to watch the final season makes sense. Although I just couldn’t resist seeing the characters again. I always have characters I hate in favorite shows, though: for me, the Brianna character was one I really hated, LOL.

      Enjoy your week!
