WEEKLY UPDATES: FEELING THANKFUL…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

Welcome to a week of thankfulness.Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, as I love the gatherings and the FOOD.  This year, I went to two events:  one with family and another with friends who have become family. Friday was a day with leftovers, and that is always wonderful.

I only read and reviewed one book, although I am making good progress on my second one.  I wrote three blog posts, and enjoyed some viewing.  In addition to the Hallmark movies I like, some which I have seen several times, I watched a lovely film called The Noel Diary, starring Justin Hartley, an actor I always enjoy.  And then I watched Where the Crawdads Sing, now showing on Netflix.

Now let’s take a closer peek at my week.

That was my week.  A lovely and thankful one, and now I am ready to start watching Christmas movies!  I viewed one last night.  Since December is right around the corner, I am eager for the First Book of the Year event which Sheila has been leading for several years.  I picked out a book that has been on my shelves for a while, and because it is a hardcover version, I have been passing it by…and waiting for the perfect time to pick it up.

Enjoy your week!  Here is my newly styled hair, thanks to my daughter last week.

  1. It sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I think Thanksgiving may be my favorite holiday as well. I didn’t get much reading done–mostly because I was hosting Thanksgiving and, for some reason, our family ended up having a lot of appointments in the week before the holiday. Oh well–I usually read quite a bit in December, so I’m okay with November being a lighter reading month.

    Have a great week!

  2. Sounds like a wonderful week. Enjoy the Christmas movies and other viewing. I’m probably going to find one to watch tonight. I watched the Netflix Lindsay Lohan Christmas movie. It had some LOL moments.

      1. Laurel-Rain I know you have a number of blogs and when I visit I don’t see any advertisements and I think they are all wordpress.com. I have a second blog with wordpress and get lots of advertisements at the end of my post. (Quilt Blog) I hate them, and am tempted to pay the minimum to keep them off. I haven’t seen any adds on your blogs. Do you do anything to prevent that or is it good luck!

      2. Thanks, Kathryn, I do see advertisements on my blogs when I’m writing them. I don’t know why you haven’t seen them, but I hate them, too! I think we have to pay a fee to get rid of them, lol.

  3. Glad you had a great Thanksgiving! Leftovers are awesome. 🙂 I didn’t read much over the weekend but watched some good movies. The Claire McGowan book looks fun. I read Blood Tide by her a few years ago.

    Have a great Sunday!

      1. How lovely to have 2 events. We don’t celebrate it here in the UK but I do spread Christmas and work round the families. We start on Christmas Eve and it ends the day after Boxing Day 🤣

        Have a great weekend!

  4. We had a lovely multi-dinner event, too. Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday, especially when I don’t have to do a lot of cooking.

And now, let the Christmas festivities begin. My husband got down the decorations yesterday. Hope to do some decorating this week! And I’m looking forward to holiday movies, too.

  5. Always glad to hear you had a good week – especially Thanksgiving with family and friends. I watch more news and ‘cop’ shows than movies. But I do like Hallmark Christmas movies. I’ll have to hunt down the channel to see about recording them.
I hope you have another good week and Happy Reading!
