A very slow reading week, with just one book read and reviewed. Only three blog posts, too. What did I do with my time this week? Well, I watched Season 5 of The Crown, and also watched Private Practice again, all six seasons! I hadn’t seen it in a while, but I still cried at all the appropriate parts.
No outings, but I am longing to see that new movie in the theater: She Said. It will probably stream soon, too, but I think I might be ready to go to the theater!
It has been YEARS since I went out to see a movie. Even before the Pandemic. I used to go regularly, enjoying lunch beforehand. I miss those times.
So…now let’s take a closer look at my flimsy week.

That was my week. What did yours look like? I am planning several events this coming week, with a hair styling at my daughter’s new salon, and meals at two different places with friends and family. I am also hoping that my No. 2 son will stop by on the upcoming weekend. Last year, a group of us enjoyed lunch out at a favorite spot. Below, Thanksgiving day at my daughter’s house last year.

You got so many great books! The Sophie Hannah is really calling to me and I’ve heard such great things about Katherine Center’s books. Have a wonderful week and a happy Thanksgiving!

Well I must get back to The Crown! I had a pretty quiet reading week too. Yay for a new Katherine Center book coming out. Something to look forward to.

Sometimes, you need a slow week. I feel like I need one, but this is going to be a crazy busy week at work, so I won’t get one until I leave for Thanksgiving.

Thanks, Mark, my upcoming week is full of outings, so the reading will be slow again!

I would love to go to a movie again! I’m still not ready for crowds, which I found out the other day when I tried to attend a talk at our library. It was too crowded and we were elbow to elbow and I had to leave. Lol.
Have a great week and a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanks, Erin, and I am pretty sure I won’t end up going to the theater…sigh. Crowds!

That’s a lot of binge watching, though I did binge a fair bit myself this past week.
I’m curious about the new Center book.
Wishing you a great reading week

The Couple at the Table looks interesting. Sometimes a quiet week is just what’s needed before entering a busier week. Hope all your Thanksgiving plans work out.

My week was pretty much the same as yours! Slow on blogging and not even one review! But at least I’m reading a bit. Or I try as much as I can.
Have a good week ahead and I hope you get all the things done you want to!

I misss movies too, I hardly go to any anymore (and I’ve only been to a couple since the pandemic). Feels weird to go I still worry about Covid. I want to read the Unger book. And I’ve been hearing The crown is good!

Thanks, Greg, whenever I think about trying the movies out in the theater, I do worry about COVID again, even though it seems less of an issue. And I have had three booster shots! But still…
Enjoy your week!

Yay for movies in the theater! We’ve been out to see the Marvel movies, but that’s it. I think we just got lazy during the pandemic and, unless there really is a reason we want to see a movie on the big screen, we just wait for it to stream. Sigh…I miss the movie theater!

Thanks, Melinda, even as I long for the theater, I think of crowds…and how much easier it is to wait for streaming. Enjoy!

Your week was ok altogether. Mine ahead involves a BD to morrow (M the 21st) when I will get a CT scan of my lungs. Company bringing a surprise Tuesday. More company Wed and some cooking of 5 cup fruit salad for Thursday, when I will have Thanksgiving with friends. There will be 25 of us. Thankfully, I only have to bring a dish! It looks like a very good week ahead. I hope yours is good also.

I think the last movie I saw in a theater was the first Downton Abbey movie – quite a while ago! Last night I watched the Lindsay Lohan Christmas movie on Netflix. Predictable and had some LOL moments. I hope we both love the new Center book. Enjoy your week, Laurel!

Thanks, Mary, I can’t even remember the last movie I saw at the theater, but it was before 2019, when I moved into that horrible “assisted living” place. Outings were not encouraged there. I’m glad I can go now if I want to, but after Pandemic times, I am leery of crowds still. Sigh.

I miss movies too. I don’t think I’ve been to one since before the kid was born. That was in 2019. I probably won’t go to another movie until she’s old enough to come with me. Have a great week!

Thanks, AJ, movie theaters have changed a bit, with reclining seats and being able to select where to sit. Drinks, too, I guess. I haven’t participated in any of these features yet. I’m still a little leery of crowds.
Enjoy your week.

I watched the first season of The Crown and really liked it. I may continue, though I generally consider TV to be a social thing, and I’m not sure anyone else in my family is interested.
I hope you have a happy Thanksgiving!

Hope you can get out to the movies soon. My mom and I saw Where the Crawdads Sing in August which was the first movie we saw in the theater since the pandemic started. It was so fun to do that again! Have a wonderful week and a lovely Thanksgiving!
