It was another week that moved beyond my family visits and back into my routines. I only read and reviewed one book, however, and wrote four blog posts. I enjoyed viewing a sequel to The Firm, which kept me glued to the screen for several nights.
An outing took me back to a favorite restaurant where I enjoyed chatting and eating with a friend over quiche and a mimosa. We had planned to go to Barnes & Noble, but when we arrived, they were still closed. Our hunger drew us to the restaurant across the street.
Now let’s take a closer look at the week.

TUESDAY EXCERPTS: “THE NEIGHBOR UPSTAIRS”
COFFEE CHAT: BACK TO MY ROUTINES…
BOOKISH FRIDAY: “THE SOULMATE”
Review: Mad Honey, by Jodi Picoult, et. al

INCOMING BOOK:
The Neighbour Upstairs (Currently Reading)

That was my week. I am finally getting back into my normal groove, although my reading is not very productive. I hope to do better next week. I am still enjoying adding to my collections of trinkets, like the Queen Elizabeth mug on my Baker’s Rack below.

Ooh yummy quiche! I haven’t had one in ages. I haven’t been to my Barnes and Noble in forever either. My reading has been down- hopefully we both rebound this week. 🙂

Well if reading is low key then other things are happening! The quiche looks yummy. How come Barnes and Noble were closed?

Thanks, Kathryn, their opening was going to be at 10 a.m., and we were not eager to wait an hour. We were hungry! LOL.

Looks like you had a nice week. I hope you enjoy your incoming book and getting back to your normal schedule. We’ve had freezing temps the past week and the shift to being indoors more has begun – more reason to read and wear cozy clothes.

It takes ages to get back into the flow I find. It’s annoying when places are closed – I’m one of those people where places always used to be closed on Sundays, but then that changed and now I expect places to be open all the time…
I’m glad you had a nice time in the restaurant though instead.
Have a good week.

Thanks, Emily Jane, it opened later than usual: at 10 a.m., which didn’t fit into our plans at all. As it turned out, the quiche was a great, though. Enjoy your week.

Oh no! I get that. I keep planning on going to the library after dropping my son off at school but then remember that it doesn’t open until 10!
Silver lining! Thank you. You too 🙂

Annoying about Barnes and Noble – but glad you were able to retrieve the situation… And I know what you mean about getting back to a routine – it can be difficult to pick up the groove after family visits or a holiday. I hope the coming week is a good one, Laurel:).

Our local Barnes and Noble has been closed. I order online from them instead of Amazon and am a B&N member instead of an Amazon Prime member, but I don’t think I buy enough books to keep them going! 😦
I’ve been in a funk, with a promotion at work eating into my free time. Went to lunch with a friend at work, and that was nice! Hoping to get on a more even keel soon. At least I finally finished one book I seemed to have been reading for weeks on end, too!

Thanks, Laurie, I love the Barnes & Noble in my old neighborhood, especially going there to hang out with coffee in the cafe. Sigh. Hopefully I will time it better next time.

It’s good to be able to go back to routines. I had a few days off, and then I’m having a hard time going back to my reviews and catching up emails…

It’s a nice feeling to get back into one’s routines after being out of them for a while. I’m sorry you didn’t get to go to Barnes & Noble, but perhaps that will be another day. And the quiche looks fantastic.
And a great read! Always wonderful.
