Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.

Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

My week was a great one!  I read and reviewed two books, wrote five blog posts, did some viewing…and went on two outings!  One was a birthday lunch with my daughter (to celebrate hers), and the other was shopping with my granddaughter.

My viewing:  I finished The Gilmore Girls and started Parenthood.  Yes, I seem to be enjoying the oldies.

My lunch with my daughter:  we had drinks and delicious food: I had a salmon sandwich, minus the bread, and she had something with steak.  Martinis and Margaritas!

Now let’s take a closer look at my week.

That was my week. I found a Murphy bed for my space!  Yes, I had planned on a sofa bed, but this one folds up into a beautiful cabinet, with storage, and opens to a queen-sized bed.  A comfy one!  It arrived today, and here is a photo.  And I got a replacement for my Boyd’s Bears Circle of Family from e-bay.  See the centerpiece at the bottom.  I am excited. Below, enjoying a Margarita.

What did your week look like?

    1. Thanks, Bonnie, I do enjoy the actors in Parenthood, and I’m definitely a fan of Lauren Graham. I also like Peter Krause, who portrays Adam…and for several years (until about a year ago), he and Lauren Graham were a couple.

I hadn’t even thought of a Murphy bed, but the sofa beds were going to take three months to arrive, so when I asked if they had anything else that might work, they steered me to the Murphy beds!

    1. Thanks, Erin, most Murphy beds I’d seen came out of the wall. I like the cabinet version.

I enjoyed celebrating my daughter’s birthday with yummy food and drinks…and the salmon was really good!

      Enjoy your week.

    1. Thanks, Mary, I hadn’t thought of going with a Murphy, but when the salesman said the sofa beds would take three months to arrive, I asked for other options. And found myself falling in love with the cabinet version of a Murphy bed. Loving it!

      Enjoy your week.

  1. Diane

Glad you had a great week and got to get out a bit with loved ones. Drinks and lunch sounds great. A very good reading week as well. I hope next week is a good one for you as well.

  2. I’m glad you got to celebrate your daughter’s birthday and have lunch with your granddaughter! Congrats on such a productive week! It’s always nice when that happens. I hope this week is just as good for you.

  3. Your place is looking nice! That chest by the window is a pretty piece of furniture. And thank goodness for margaritas. I had a couple good ones in Newport Beach recently when I was in Calif. and they made all the difference. 🙂 But I’m back home now and we just started watching 5 Days at Memorial which is on Apple+TV. Hope you have a great week.

    1. Thanks, Susan, sounds like a good week for you, too. I am very happy to finally have sleeping available for my guests.

I find myself wandering through my rooms, staring at it, along with my little Boyds Bears trinket…so happy to have reclaimed that piece, too.

      Enjoy your week.

  4. That cabinet that turns into a bed is amazing, never seen anything like it and I love it. That salmon looks very good. Catherine McKenzie is someone I did read and liked the book so hope this one has been good. No doubt you will let us know.

    1. Thanks, Kathryn, I was amazed to discover the “bed in a cabinet,” as I’ve only ever seen Murphy beds come down from the wall!

      The salmon was very delicious!

I’m enjoying Catherine McKenzie’s newest book. I am a fan of her work. Have a great week.

  5. Seriously??? There’s a bed inside that cabinet??? How cool is that? I only knew about the murphy beds that flip up into a wall!

I am so jealous that you have the Babysitter in your hands!

    That salmon looks amazing!

  6. Happy you had a great week, and happy birthday to your daughter!

I read Please Join Us earlier this summer, it wasn’t my favourite from the author but I had a good time with it. Hope you enjoy it too.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  7. Your meals look very tasty! Your week sounds great, especially finding furniture that doesn’t take forever — it seems as if these days they have to wait for the tree to grow, be cut down into lumber, and then manufacture whatever we need.

    1. Thanks, Mae, it is definitely challenging to find furniture and other goods, even though things are improving a bit. But I don’t like waiting months for things….so I was happy to find my Murphy bed and have it delivered the same week.

I am looking forward to my books. Enjoy yours.

  8. Nice to see pictures of you and your daughter, along with the food and drinks, and I always love seeing your home decorating projects! Wow to the Murphy bed! I always thought they had to be installed, too. I wish we had thought of that instead of the pull-out futon couch.
The Joyce Carol Oates book you’re reading especially intrigues me! Seems like it might be a good one for the Sept/Oct RIP Challenge…

    1. Thanks, Laurie, I had a great week, and I loved the food and time together. I am happy about the Murphy bed, and my first guests arrive in September! I have only ever seen Murphy beds come out of a wall, so this one was a nice surprise.

      Enjoy your week.

  9. It sounds like you had a wonderful visit with your daughter. Hurrah for margaritas!
I am trying to convince my husband to build me a kind of murphy bed for my sewing room. I want one at the right height so I can cut fabric on it when it isn’t in use.
