WEEKLY UPDATES: ANOTHER SLOW READING WEEK…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.

Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

My reading is still plodding along, but my one book read and reviewed this week was a good one.  I just got distracted by my viewing again!  Finished up Better Call Saul, Season Six, and I’m almost done with the seven seasons of The Gilmore Girls.  Blogging was worse than usual, with only two posts.

I didn’t have any outings this week, but do hope to enjoy one next week.  Shopping is on my agenda.

I’ve been rearranging furniture again, to hopefully make room for a new sofa bed.

So…let’s take a closer look at my week.

  1. The Soulmate looks great- I’ve been seeing that around. I feel like I need to get back to Lisa Jewell too, as I haven’t read her last couple.

Love the old pic with the Coke table. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Greg, I am looking forward to The Soulmate…and I also love that old pic with the Coke table…and my sofa bed. That was my guest house in the foothills that I enjoyed for a while. Then I moved the furniture to a condo where I lived for 12 years.

Ever since I left the condo, I have been searching for replacements, LOL.

    1. I completely agree, Kathryn, and I have enjoyed my weeks with both reading and viewing. Add in some outings, and a week is perfect. Enjoy your week.

I’ll wait a while on The Soulmate, since it won’t be released until next April!

  2. We went to IKEA yesterday to get some doors for some shelves and a new shelf (amongst lots of other things!). I love a storage solution!

We have been going out and about so I haven’t been on the blog as much, but still a lot 😂

    Have a great week!

      1. It was lovely to spend time as a three. Yes our 4 year old “doesn’t like it” and can be a challenge when we go out, but we have to do these things in case he enjoys them!

        You too 🙂

    1. Thanks, Sophie, I agree! I recall my reading as a young person, and sometimes I could savor one book for more than a week, since childhood activities and school homework also took over my time.

      Have a great week.

  3. I’ve never had the pleasure of reading Lisa Jewell, though I know she’s very popular – I hope you enjoy this one and I need to pick up one of her books. Fingers crossed you can track down a suitable sofa bed – I get a bit fed up with trying to find items that I used to enjoy owning, only to discover they don’t make them like that any more… Have a great week, Laurel.

    1. Thanks, Sarah, it is hard to find what we want these days, and I don’t know if it’s still the leftover challenges from the Pandemic…or what. I know that I don’t like ordering furniture online, and sometimes, not even clothes.

The newest Lisa Jewell was good, but I found it more convoluted and confusing than some of her other books. Enjoy your week.

  4. I guess I didn’t get a lot of blogging done this past week either, although fortunately I just didn’t have a lot scheduled. I wish I’d had more time to comment on blogs before Saturday though. I hate when you have to get new furniture but can’t find anything as good as what you had before. That happens to me all the time. Hope you have a good week!

    1. Thanks, Lisa, I am a little worried about being able to find something as good as what I had! I’m keeping my fingers crossed, though.

Buying new furniture is more challenging these days, as the shops so often have things that have to be shipped.

  5. I can see why you’ve been distracted from your reading if you have been watching Gilmore Girls. I think it took us two years to watch all of the series!

I hope you are able to get out next week and buy a good sofa bed. We had one that my kids loved, but the one time I tried to sleep on it, I couldn’t rest all night because of the bar in the middle.

    1. Thanks, JoAnn, I sure hope I get to go shopping this week! My granddaughter has been so busy, but she has promised to take me this week. My friend who often takes me places has been ill!

Here’s hoping. Meanwhile, I am loving The Housekeeper so far. Enjoy your books.

    1. Thanks, Bonnie, and after I finished all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls, today I watched the sequel: A Year in the Life. Now I want them to do another one, because that one had a cliff hanger ending!

      Enjoy your week.

  6. Sounds like you had a good week, Laurel. Sometimes my reading weeks are slow, but then I finish an entire book in a day.

The Soulmate was at another blog today. The Housekeeper sounds good. Hope you enjoy them.

Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog today.

  7. I’m going to have to buy a daybed or sofa bed real soon–company coming. Do you know what is the difference? Maybe just a twin bed would be best. I’m turning my dining room into a sitting/bed room off the living room. Suggestions, y”all?
