WEEKLY UPDATES: SLOW READING WEEK…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.

Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

As I sit at my computer, eating a turkey pot pie for lunch with a glass of Cabernet, I am wondering where the week went, since I only read and reviewed one book and wrote just four blog posts.  I must admit to lots of binge-watching, from another episode of Better Call Saul’s Season 6, and the seven seasons of Mad Men finally completed again.  I couldn’t stop watching that show, which I saw in its entirety back in 2015…and found myself completely wrapped up in the sixties and seventies again.

I stayed up late watching every night, which cut into my reading (and sleeping) time.  And despite my desire to go out shopping, I didn’t leave my apartment once!  All of my groceries were delivered, of course, and I did do a little bit of cleaning.

So now what?  Well, let’s grab a beverage and take a look at my posts and one review:

That was my week.  What did yours look like?  As I plan for shopping excursions, I am remembering the beautiful sofa bed I once had, photo on left.  And hope to find something like that one.

  1. Weeks go so quickly don’t they? I have just come back from holiday. It was over in a flash!
Book Lovers was a good book. I have things that I want to watch on TV, but I have Blog Tours and a Buddy read to get through! I find that I don’t miss TV. I probably watched enough when I was on maternity leave with my son (although that was 4 years ago now!).

    Have a great week!

    1. Thanks, Mary, glad to hear it. I agree that binge-viewing is a good way to spend time, and lately I’ve been watching shows that I’ve already seen, like Mad Men…and today I started on The Gilmore Girls. Enjoy your week.

  2. To me, this week felt very long!! Strange how that can happen…

Once again, you’ve got the best books! Will take a look at the The Couple at No 9.

I remember only watching a couple of episodes of Mad Men, I think I need to start it again and just finish the serious. I love the fifties and sixties!!

Have a good week and happy reading.

I liked Book Lovers and hope you do too. I got out last week much more than usual since a friend was visiting. I’m glad to stay home this week. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  4. If you only finish one book, it’s wonderful that it’s a 5-star read. The Last to Vanish must be really good. I hope you enjoy Book Lovers, too. I thought the two main characters had fun conversations.

I have often thought about watching Mad Men. One of these days.

I do hope you are able to find a sofa-bed just like your old one.

  5. The Couple at No 9 is on my TBR. It looks like such a great read. I go through phases where I’m binging shows and that does cut into my reading but I figure it’s okay to get a break now and then! Have a great week!

  6. I love staying in. The pandemic was good for me in that way! If I were retired, I would spend days on end at home. I’ve been reading a lot, but not blogging, so four posts in one week seems great to me!
