WEEKLY UPDATES: A PRODUCTIVE WEEK…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.

Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

What a great week!  Lots of fun viewing, some of which included new seasons of regular shows, like Ozark.  I also added more episodes of And Just Like That and Single Drunk Female.

I read and reviewed three books this week, and I enjoyed them all.  And I wrote seven eight blog posts.

Now I am rearranging my rooms again, as my new Baker’s Rack arrived.  It is still in the box, as the service provider who will assemble it is not scheduled until February 18!  But I got the space ready by moving things around.

Here is the dining room rearranged…and the box in the space contains the rack:

Now let’s take a closer look at my week:

That was my week.  What did yours look like?  Here are some changes I made in my bedroom when I cleared out space for the Baker’s Rack:

(Left) – the book cupboard that moved from the dining room; and (Right) – the chest of drawers now resides by the desk and file cabinet, having moved from the bedroom space where the cupboard now stands.

  1. I’ve been hearing good things about The Overnight Guest and the Frankel book has been on my list for a while. Hope you enjoy both and have a good week, Laurel.

I introduced my brother to the “Ozark” and he loved it. This week I watched a movie with Reese Witherspoon and I rewatched “Friends from College” still waiting for the third season.

    1. Thanks, Trin, I have mixed feelings about Ozark, as the more seasons we see, the more dark and sinister it becomes! But I’m hooked by now. Sigh.

I started Friends from College, but didn’t connect with it. Maybe I’ll try again.

      Enjoy your week.

  3. One of the things I love about you is seeing how you rearrange your space. You are always terribly clever. I tend to put things in one spot and never move them!

I read The Maid. Glad the positive things I’d read were true.

You wrote a lot of blog posts last week. And you finished some good books. Now that’s a satisfying week.

Love the way your place has come together. I have been enjoying Abbott Elementary, Grand Crew, and Call Me Cat. Really funny shows. Looks like a good reading week ahead for you!

  5. What a satisfying week you had! January is a great month to rearrange things around the house. I often feel a bit cooped up in January and rearranging furniture gives me a new perspective. I look forward to seeing your baker’s rack.

You’ve read some good books as well. It is always fun to have shows to look forward to. I hope your coming week is great!

  6. I’ve had This is How It Always is on my kindle for years… sure hope to get to it soon. Maybe your review will convince me. Glad you got the Baker’s Rack, but it will be torture to wait that long for it to get put together. Ugh! Hope you have another great week.

    1. Thanks, JoAnn, I am sad to report that I didn’t get very far into This Is How It Always Is before setting it aside! I’m not sure why, but the writing style didn’t grab me. Sigh.

I am also feeling a little anxious about the long wait for the assembly, but then I remember that I went through the same thing with my Coca Cola table and other items…and realize now that the wait makes it all so much more delightful in the end!

      Have a great week.

  7. I love Ozark. I finished the first part and can’t wait for them to release the second part. I want to read the Valerie Bertinelli book. They might have that on audio at the library. I’ll have to check for it. Hope you have a great week!

I am glad to hear you had a great week, Laurel-Rain! I am sure your new baker’s rack will be a great edition to your home. I grew up watching Valerie Bertinelli. I hope you enjoy her memoir! The Maid was so good! I hope you enjoy that one too. I hope you have a great week!

  9. I love seeing how you organize your space! I have no eye for that (and it shows if you ever see my house!), so I’m always trying to glean tips from people who are better at it than I.

    Have a great week!

I am so glad your living space is coming together. We are doing a bit of rearranging furniture ourselves and I know how tiring it can get. But I love rearranging them. I have been hearing a lot about The Maid, let us know how it goes for you.

    1. Thanks, Shelleyrae, I might need to step back just a bit from all the furniture additions and rearranging…but after living in a tiny studio apartment for more than two years, I was ready to expand!

      Enjoy your books!

Your space seems like it is really coming together. I’m curious about The Maid since everything I’ve heard about it sounds really intriguing. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

    1. Thanks, Laurie, I am obviously a fan of rearranging, LOL. I definitely love curling up in spaces that feel good to me.

I might try that book again at some point. Sometimes I find that books I don’t enjoy work better for me when I am in the mood.

      Have a great week.

Your apartment is so fun. I like how you rearrange things & have fun items & furniture. I hope to get to the Maid novel too — it looks fun. Now how many books has Valerie Bertinelli written over the years? It was sad when Eddie Van Halen passed away … I think she writes about that.

    1. Thanks, Susan, I LOVE fixing up new places! The apartment where I lived from 2007 to 2019 (before the horrible residential senior living place) was finally just the way I liked it. Then my daughter moved me while I was recovering from my brief hospitalization…and sold and/or gave away some of my favorite treasures! I will try to forgive her, LOL. She probably thought I would be staying in that residence forever.

But…now I have a new “canvas,” and it’s fun to create a new space.

I think Valerie has written at least five books. I read another of hers called Losing It, about her weight loss journey.

  13. Glad you had a good week and 3 five star reads too! The room rearrangements look good to me. I think you have fun rearranging — your home, our blog…anything else? I haven’t had time for a while but I enjoy rearranging my closets and drawers now and then. And my bookshelves!
    The Overnight Guest looks good.
Hope you have another good week and Happy Reading!
