WEEKLY UPDATES: A LEISURELY WEEK…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.

Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

Another week with books, blogging, and viewing.  I read and reviewed just two books…but I wrote seven blog posts.

I watched a few older shows and movies…I’m currently engaged in viewing We the People, a show I enjoyed a while ago.  Of course I saw another episode of And Just Like That.  I started a new show called Single Drunk Female, with Ally Sheedy starring as the matriarch.  Remember her back in the 80s, in movies like St. Elmo’s Fire?

I was home all week, but I am doing some online shopping and hoping to actually visit a store or two this weekend.  Let’s see how that goes.

Now…let’s take a closer look at my week…

  1. I like that baker’s rack! I’ve spent a lot of time listening to podcasts the past few days. One was an interview of Goldie Hawn. Now I want to see where I can stream her films from the 80s and 90s.

      1. She was my favorite too, along with maybe Elisabeth Shue (who I’m not sure was technically a Brat PAcker, but maybe?). Shue just showed up in Cobra Kai and was fabulous.

  2. I hope you will or have got to a bit of in shop shopping. So far I do quick in and out shopping but may cut back even more with omicron beginning to spread here. I have heaps of TV to watch I just never get to it!

    1. Thanks, Kathryn, I actually had lunch at my favorite Mexican restaurant today, all by myself, socially distanced, LOL. By the time I finished, I decided I had had enough of an adventure and went home. I used Lyft again, and it worked out great. I think they are back to having enough drivers.

  3. Glad you have enjoyed some older, comforting watches as well as new ones and I hope you were able to visit a few store this week. My week at work was still pretty tough, but I had my birthday and a trip to the cinema to make up for it. Take care and happy reading. 🙂

Mention of St. Elmo’s Fire brings back memories. Were you able to get out to go shopping this weekend? We are enjoying a lazy Sunday at home. I am getting some laundry done. I hope you enjoy your reading and have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks, Wendy, I called a bunch of stores, and when they didn’t have what I wanted, I ordered the Baker’s Rack from Amazon, with a service person coming out to assemble it…and took a Lyft to my favorite Mexican restaurant for enchiladas and a margarita!

Enjoy your week. I might have to watch St. Elmo’s Fire again!

  5. I have been seeing the new Colleen Hoover and Just Like Mother all over the place. I hope you enjoy all of your new reads! I had no idea that Ally Sheedy was in something new. She was all over the place in the 80s. Have a great week!

  6. I find the cover for Just Like Mother a bit unsettling, not sure why haha! I’ll have to look up what it’s about. I also have a Colleen Hoover on my shelf this week, though an older title.

    Have a great week!

    1. Thanks, JoAnn, I wish I had my original Baker’s Rack, but when I bought it, I went around to many stores until I found just the one. Those days are over, so I’m just thrilled that I can get one online that I can have assembled by the company. Assembling things is always a challenge.

I also think that cover is creepy! It’s funny, though, since I have had doll collections that didn’t bother me, but my sons (and even my daughter) thought they needed to come down from the shelves and hide out somewhere!

‘Just Like Mother’ looks amazing, from the cover to the fact there is a cult?! You were a lot more productive blog-wise than me this week, I’m really hoping to get back into it properly and get things done! Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a lovely week 🙂

All my shopping has been virtual lately. Omicron is supposed to peak in my part of the country this week which should make it safer to wander out. Nice looking books too. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

    1. Thanks, Kathy, I don’t go out shopping very often. I mostly go out to eat, on occasion, with friends or family. I don’t even go to the grocery store, but I have a delivery app on my phone that I have come to rely on.

  9. Fun on watching older shows and movies.

I see you downloaded JUST LIKE MOTHER. I declined when I saw it was horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. I don’t like those genres. I hope you enjoy the book, Laurel.

I have been staying in too.

Take care, and have a great week.

  10. My husband and I have been streaming an old show called Psych for a while now. It’s from around 2008. Ally Sheedy has a recurring part on there and her character is insane. Her episodes are pretty intense and this is supposed to be a comedy/mystery show!

Just Like Mother looks super creepy.

    Enjoy your week!
