WEEKLY UPDATES: HAPPY NEW YEAR…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.

Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

My week was a good one, even though I only read two books.  But I did pick out my First Book of the Year, linked below, and I spent time setting up my Curl up and Read blog with the new pages for 2022.  Every year I add Bookshelves for the year, with pages for books purchased and read.

It is a little time-consuming, but it was easier than I thought it would be.  For some reason the Classic Editor kicked in for those pages and I could sail through them.

After I wrote my First Book of the Year post, I started watching a show on Amazon Prime called Scott & Bailey: it features two British detectives, with interesting cases and fascinating personal lives.  I ended up on Season 3!  I will continue today, I think.  But I must also start my First Book!

Let’s curl up with our First Books of the Year…and blog reading.  Check out my week:

    1. Thanks, Greg, I can’t think of anything better than finally saying goodbye to COVID! Although the scientists seem to think it will be with us always in some form or another.

Meanwhile, we can read good books and binge movies! Happy New Year!

    1. Thanks, Wendy, I don’t know why I’ve never discovered the show before; it is not a new one, and it’s from a few years ago.

I am glad to be binging it now. I like how the characters’ cases and personal lives keep me hooked.

      Enjoy your week!

    1. Thanks, Kathryn, yes, the beginning of a year does have a lot of blog housekeeping activities. I almost forgot about setting up the new pages!

Enjoy your week…and I will binge some more of the show today. But I am also reading my First Book, and have finished 100 + pages so far.

      Happy New Year!

    1. Thanks, Victoria, I am loving the First Book already. Some aspects mimic our country in the last four years, but are fictionalized, of course. But it is great fun to see them brought out in a fictional setting.

      Enjoy your week!

Happy New Year to you! And you’ve picked quite a book to start with as well! I hope you enjoy it, although ‘My Darling Husband’ definitely looks amazing as well. I hope you have a lovely upcoming week 🙂

I was planning on having the blog and new tabs and everything sorted out before the new year, but it never happened. I have it down in my brand new diary for Thursday… Let’s hold thumbs I manage it then.

Happy New Year and I wish you lots of brilliant new reads for 2022.

    1. Thanks, Mareli, I am glad that I only do blog work with my Curl up and Read site, where I track my reading. But I also like changing a few things up. That will be later. Have fun!

Enjoy the New Year and your books.

  3. I read something last week that would have sounded crazy if I hadn’t read it on the blog of my scientific book friend, Dorothy. Apparently scientists are studying some kind of shark protein that may permanently get rid of Covid. I know, I know, it sounds odd, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the shark protein.

Two great reads, and it’s always fun to reset things for the new year on our blogs, I think.

    Here’s to a wonderful 2022!

  4. Glad you enjoyed a good week of blogging and reading, especially picking your first read of 2022. Happy New Year! 🎉 Also good to hear you are enjoying a good old British crime show. 😊 Take care and happy reading in the first week of 2022. 🙂

  5. My first book is My Darling Husband and I’m loving it! I hope you like it to. I have the audio of State of Terror but I might be better off borrowing the ebook from the library and reading instead of listening. We’ll see.

I hope you have a great week and Happy New Year!

    1. Thanks, Shelleyrae, I know what you mean! I had to stop and think about the process, and then worried that Block Editor would hamper me. But happily, the Classic Editor automatically kicked in and allowed me to sail through. Still tedious, though. LOL.

Enjoy your week and your new year!

Happy New Year! I’ll have to check out the Amazon Prime show. I don’t use that service enough. Good choice for your first book of the year too. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
