Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.
Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
The week was pretty uneventful. I did read and review two books and enjoyed a few older movies. No outings. Interesting how one week can be full of activities, while the next one is pretty quiet. I did enjoy having some time alone.
Let’s take a closer look at the week.
Tuesday Excerpts: “The Last House on the Street”
Monthly Wrap-up: Hello, December…
Bookish Friday: “What Happens in Paradise”
Review: Watch Her Fall, by Erin Kelly
Review: The Summer That Made Us, by Robyn Carr

INCOMING BOOKS:
Wish You Were Here, by Jodi Picoult
***
Do I Know You, by Sarah Strohmeyer
***
The Widow, by K. L. Slater
***
CURRENTLY READING:
Wish You Were Here, by Jodi Picoult

That was my week. What did yours look like? Check out the beautiful Christmas decor on a farmhouse I found in Country Living magazine.

I love rustic decor, especially holiday rustic. 🙂
Your books look good, especially the strohmeyer. I think I’ve read Slater once as well…
Hope you are having a nice weekend 🙂

Thanks, Kathryn, I was planning to wait a while to read the Picoult book, but I couldn’t find anything else that called to me as much…so I’m reading it now!

The only book I have read by Jodi Picoult is The Plain Truth, and that was many years ago.

Thanks, Billy, I think I have read all of her books. Some I’ve enjoyed more than others, but I am loving this one. It is so timely, with its focus on the Pandemic in the lives of the characters.

Now where is that farmhouse?! Looks idyllic. No weekly update ? I hope all is well. Next week I hope to start decorating for Christmas …. I’ll find a tree and wreath … hard to believe we are into December. When did it sneak up on me!

Didn’t you notice the weekly update, Susan? Just blog posts and reviews, I guess.
December did sneak up on us, and I don’t like that January and tax preparation time follows! Sigh.
Enjoy your week.

One of these days I might have a decorative Christmas theme, it’s kinda ‘last minute $2 shop’ right now.
Wishing you a great reading week

I have some miniature Christmas trees, Shelleyrae, but they are tucked away in bins…and I think my granddaughter put them somewhere! Perhaps on a shelf? I may not bother this year. LOL
Sometimes I just enjoy the holidays by looking at movies, books, and magazines.
Enjoy your week.

Love that decor, that definitely gets me right into the Christmas Spirit! I also have The Widow waiting on my Kindle for me, should probably get to that sooner rather than later. I hope you have a lovely upcoming week 🙂

Enjoy your week!

Wow, I love the rustic motif. I read somewhere that parents should make the holidays memorable for kids so that they have something to hang on to. My mother was queen of the holidays, Man, I miss her.

I like your mother’s attitude. Mine was like that. I used to be more like that, but lately my decor has been minimal. I do love a lot of red, so that works, right? LOL
Thanks for visiting, Trin.

I’ve heard lots of great things about the new Jodi Picoult book. I’m eager to see what you think about it.
We had always planned to build a cabin in the forest one of these days, but it looks like that will probably not happen. It is fun to see how others decorate, isn’t it?

I love cabins in the forest, Deb. My second son had one for a few years and I loved visiting.
I don’t think I’ll ever have one, lol.
Enjoy your week!

Well there is nothing like a quiet week with good books. I am not likely to have that until maybe later in the month. I was running at top speed last week other than our zoo outing and it looks similar this week.

After all the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving week, I was glad for a few quiet days at home, too! It’s been interesting for me to see how holiday decorations vary around the country… they really play up the tropical down here. We have dolphins pulling Santa’s sleigh, Santa wearing a grass skirt and doing the hula inflatables, and all the lights in the palm trees look spectacular. So very different from upstate NY!
