WEEKLY UPDATES: RELAXING MOMENTS…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.

Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

The week seemingly flew by.  I did read and review three books, and loved them all, but I only wrote five blog posts.

I enjoyed watching a new show on Netflix:  On the Verge, and viewed another episode of Nine Perfect Strangers. Then I watched a special streaming of Days of Our Lives, Beyond Salem, on Peacock.  That was fun.

Last night, my granddaughter came over to work on some projects with me…and we had a pizza!  That was a nice change. She’s coming again this afternoon.

Now let’s take a closer look at my week.

Sounds like you had a very nice week. I loved 28 Summers (hope you do as well). I have all those other books on my TBR list as well LOL – I think our taste in books is similar.

Hey, we had potato salad today at lunch too. Great minds think alike! We are midway into the TV series Nine Perfect Strangers and are enjoying the odd array of characters. Sort of dark & fun. Have a great week.

    1. Thanks, Kathryn, and I am enjoying 28 Summers, but yes, bittersweet.

Fiona did come through with help in putting the table together. It came without any tools, just hardware, so she brought a friend over with tools. Now I hope the chairs will arrive soon; supposedly they will require no assembly! LOL

  3. Ooh is that a new Lisa Jewell? And the Feeney book looks good- I think I’ve read one of hers…

Pizza with your granddaughter sounds nice. 🙂 Hope you’re having a great weekend!

    Take care this week!

  4. Glad you went for the potato salad after all and pizza with your granddaughter sounds lovely, too! 😊 As for me I had a busy, sweaty but fun first week back at school, as we get back into the routine and enjoyed a bit of an Indian summer! ☀ Take care and happy reading in the coming week.

    1. Thanks, AJ, I really enjoyed On the Verge. Hope you do, too.

And the pizza was a veggie, which I used to love eating at California Pizza Kitchen, which is sadly closed down now…so it felt good to have it.

      Have a great week.

  5. I’m eager to see your new table and chairs. I hope they all arrive soon and you can share a photo here.

The book 56 Days looks good, though it’s possibly too suspenseful for me. I’m such a chicken!

What a blessing your granddaughter is to you. And I’m sure you are also a blessing for her.

I enjoyed 28 Summers. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

    1. Thanks, Deb, the table arrived and is now assembled, but I hope to get the chairs before I start posting photos…although I did put a couple of shots on FB.

Fiona is definitely a blessing. And I am almost finished with 28 Summers, but I’m feeling a sadness creeping in! Sigh. I knew that was inevitable, based on some of the opening scenes.

      Enjoy your week.

  6. Sounds like a very good week… and pizza is always a treat! I loved 28 Summers when I read it last year and hope you are, too. The follow-up short story (The Sixth Wedding) was nice opportunity to catch up with the characters, but nothing special.

Sounds like a good week Laurel. And I love that you get to see your granddaugther as much. I’m very close to my grandma.. and she will be coming over and spending the night tomorrow. I’m excited.

    1. Thanks, Maureen, I would love to see my granddaughter even more, but work hours and transportation issues do make our get-togethers challenging. But when we do work things out, we have a great time.

Enjoy your visit with your grandma, and have a great week.

  8. Rock Paper and Scissors sounds like a drama thriller you would like. 56 Days looks like a good thriller too.
Glad you got to enjoy pizza with your granddaughter and a yum-looking potato salad.
Have a good week and Happy Reading!

    1. Thanks, Elizabeth, and yes, Nine Perfect Strangers is based on the book. I had the book for a while, and only read it when I knew the miniseries was coming. I liked the series more than the book, but they are both pretty good.

      Enjoy your week!
