WEEKLY UPDATES…GOOD THINGS!

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.

Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

This week was a good one.  I enjoyed reading two books and I’m halfway through a really intense third one.  I started watching Season 3 of Virgin River, and I can tell there will be some binge-watching this weekend.  I viewed another episode of The Good Fight and I wrote seven blog posts.

I had an outing this week that I am excited about.  I signed paperwork to get my new apartment, which is ready now and which I can move into by the 23rd…or sooner.  First I have to be approved, but I don’t anticipate a problem with that.  I am hopeful.

Now that I am eagerly anticipating this move, I am having a hard time sleeping, since I’m writing lists and planning things.  My granddaughter will help with the move, and will start by bringing some boxes to me so I can pack.  But after I’ve been approved, of course.

Now let’s take a closer look at my week.

I am loving this book.  It is so intense that I can’t seem to put it down.  I probably won’t get a lot of sleep this weekend!

So…that was my week. I also enjoyed watching some old favorite movies like You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle… and got a new handbag, see below.

What did your week look like?

    1. Thanks, Cathy, those are my hopes, too! I haven’t actually moved in a long time, not counting the one two years ago when I was sick and which my daughter handled. But I have moved many times over the years, so I’m hoping I will slip right into the mechanics of it, like muscle memory.

Enjoy your week and your books.

I’ve been so out of the loop lately, what with being mostly awol from the blog/blogging community, so I had no idea you were planning a move! Fingers crossed you get approved for the new apartment and lots of luck with the move!

    1. Thanks, Nicci, I have discovered that a quick move is sometimes easier, as I don’t have as much time to agitate over everything. Let’s hope that is true this time, too.

Enjoy your week and your books!

    1. Thanks, Mary, as happy as the news has made me, I am suddenly feeling a panic about the logistics! LOL. Packing, the actual move, and all the address changes.

Nothing good comes without a lot of effort, though.

Enjoy your week and your books!

  2. Yay go your granddaughter. Is that Fiona? And is Aubrey home yet or is she still here in NZ? Exciting, yes can understand the not sleeping with all the anticipation. Not so much reading and viewing for a little while and think of all the rearranging of furniture. So happy paper work is signed. Best news ever.

  3. Fingers crossed for a smooth and easy move! I’ve seen The Stranger in the Mirror feature on a lot of blogs – I feel as though I’m missing out! I look forward to reading your thoughts on it.

    Have a great week!

Ooooe I love the handbag!!! I’m a sucker for a pretty handbag. And yea for a new apartment! I do hope that things will move smoothly,

The stranger in the mirror and Kill all your darlings are popping up everywhere. I need to take a look at it!

Have a good week and good luck with everything that’s coming up.

  5. I’m so glad that you have signed paperwork to get a new apartment. I know you will be happier in a place that offers more choice than you have experienced at this place. I haven’t moved in 36 years. We always joke that, with my books and my husband’s rocks, no one will offer to help us!

Survive the Night sounds like it has been recommended by everyone. I’m eager to hear your thoughts about it.

    Lovely purse!

    1. Thanks, Deb, I used to move a lot when I was young, but then by the mid-90s, I started staying put more, with thirteen years in my house in the foothills and twelve years in the condo just before I moved this last time. I hope I remember how to do it, lol!

I will just push ahead and hope it all comes back to me.

      Enjoy your week.

  6. I’m so glad Virgin River is back on. I want to start season 3 this week.

Good luck with getting into your new apartment. So exciting!

I’ve been having trouble sleeping too. I keep waking up and can’t go back to sleep for thinking of stuff from many years ago. I have no idea why.

The Fiancée sounds really good! In fact, all of the books you read sound really good.

I love that bag! I have a very serious all kinds of bags addiction. Purses, totes, travel bags, duffel bags, backpacks, theme park bags, cloth store bags, all the bags. I’ve put myself on a “no bag” hold. For how long? Until I see one I can’t not get.

I hope you have a great week!

    1. Thanks, Vicki, I started seriously collecting bags a few years ago, and then gave many away when I moved. But the collections started growing again once I was settled for a bit.

I am glad I kept the size down, though, as I had hopes of being able to move from this place.

      Enjoy your week!

  7. Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly with the approval and move! What are the reasons you want to move and what are the reasons you want to be in that particular apartment instead of the one you’re in and why didn’t you move into the one you want originally, if that’s not being TOO nosy. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Jinjer, I was sick for a bit, but just needed a surgery. My kids thought I needed help, and they worried about me. But the issues I had didn’t require that kind of help, and I had my surgery and everything went well. I am fine now.

I would never have picked this “assisted living” place, as I need and want independence, which I will get at the new apartment. It is a senior community, with everything I will need to connect with other seniors, but I can also connect with others outside the community.

    1. Thanks, Melinda, and here’s hoping the move goes smoothly!

I am a little nervous about all the work that will go into it, the packing, etc. I haven’t done an actual move in fourteen years! (The one two years ago was done by my daughter). But I hope the process will come back to me as I go, like muscle memory. LOL

      Enjoy your week!

    1. Thanks, Yvonne, since you have recently moved, I am sure you can relate to the anxiety of the process. I haven’t done a move myself in fourteen years! Missed out on the one two years ago, but the aftermath was chaotic. LOL

I do have an obsession for handbags.

      Enjoy your week.

    1. Thanks, Penelope, I would love to wake up two weeks from now and already be moved into my new place! LOL. That’s how much I don’t love the process.

But it will be worth it.

I loved Virgin River, the book and the series.

  8. It sounds as if it was meant to be – you moving into this particular apartment. I really hope that it all goes through with the minimum of fuss, Laurel:)). Have a great reading week – I know about reading through the night when a book gets very intense…

I’m looking forward to seeing how you set up your new place and make it cozy and homely. I’m amazed at your seven blog posts in a week. I’m lucky to do one or two. Enjoy your new book; the Stranger in the Mirror sounds good.
