WEEKLY UPDATES: GREAT READING, ETC.

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon and The Sunday Post for weekly updates.

Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

It has been a week of hanging out in my apartment, reading and watching movies.  This weekend, I will watch Season 3 of The Kominsky Method.  I read and loved three books, and wrote five blog posts. I had no outings this week, but did enjoy some dinners at my table in the dining room.  Chatting, sipping wine, and occasionally enjoying the food.

My youngest grandson graduated from high school in a virtual ceremony that I enjoyed from my laptop.  How is it possible that he is already grown?  Soon he will be off to the marines!

Here he is as a new graduate, with his mom (my daughter).

  1. Congrats to your grandson…time certainly does fly. I can’t believe it will be June on Tuesday.

I have FIND YOU FIRST but haven’t read it yet.

You are going to love YOU WILL REMEMBER ME.

LOCAL WOMAN MISSING was SO GOOD.

    Have a FAB week, Laurel.

  2. Look how tall your grandson is, wonderful that he has graduated and you could watch on via online. I have thought about The Kominsky Method since you mentioned it and I might take a look at it. I am hopeless at organising myself for viewing things.

    1. Thanks, Kathryn, and yes, the men in my family seem to all be over 6 feet tall. I used to be tall, too, at 5’9″, but I have shrunk a little, as we tend to do, lol.

I enjoyed Michael Douglas’s portrayal in The Kominsky Method. Hope you give it a try.

  3. How lovely that you were able to watch your grandson’s graduation ceremony on your laptop – you must be so proud of him, especially with him off to the marines! Mine was a good but tiring week, so I am pleased it is now the school’s half-term break and we have good weather forecast for it! 😎 Take care and happy reading in the coming week. 🙂

Time flies… Kids grow up and then the grandkids do too!

You will remember me still has my attention and I think The breakup Book Club seems like a fun read for sure.

Have a good week ahead and happy reading!

    1. Thanks, Mareli, it really seems like just the other day that he was born on a Sunday in January, and then there were all the cute little baby moments. But everything sped up rather quickly.

Enjoy your week and your books!

  5. Aw, what a nice picture. And good luck to him going forward! Hope you are having a nice long weekend. Sipping wine sounds good. 🙂

You Will Remember Me looks good. My love for thrillers continues. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Erin, nobody else in our family has been in the Marines! There were some navy guys…and even some National Guard.

Enjoy your week, and I just finished eating dinner and sipping wine with the table mates. Other residents are envious of how much fun we have, lol.

I tried watching The Kominsky Method but sadly, I just could not get into it at all. I am glad it worked out for you. And congrats on your grandson’s graduation!

‘The Break-Up Book Club’ looks like a really fun read, although it’s definitely different from ‘You Will Remember Me’! Congratulations to your grandson! I hope you have a lovely start to the week and do drop by my Monday post if you have the time! – Juli @ A Universe in Words

    1. Thanks, Shelleyrae, and no, the food hasn’t improved! Some days I have to request an “off the menu” item because I can’t find anything I can eat or even enjoy at all! And then hope they will prepare it for me. So far so good. They do well at holiday events, but I suspect those are catered, lol.

I still can’t believe that my youngest grandson is all grown and off to the marines! Enjoy your week.

I don’t understand how kids get older but we stay the same. I don’t feel any older than I did when I was a young adult. Cute doll! Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  9. Congratulations to your grandson! I’m sure you are all so proud of him. One good thing since the pandemic began… being able to attend events virtually you may not have been able to see otherwise. Earlier in the spring we were able to watch my nephew in a high school play in PA. The Break-Up Book Club looks good. Enjoy your week!

  11. The Break-Up Book Club looks good! Kids grow up so fast. Our youngest will be turning 30 this fall. (No grandchildren yet, though!) Fewer outings means more reading, so that’s the good part, right?

Your grandson is very impressive. Good for him as a graduate! The amnesia novel you picture has quite a haunting cover. I’m not sure I could sleep after reading that one, ha. Have a great week!
