Good morning! Let’s gather around with our caffeinated beverages to chat about our weeks, our books, and our perspectives. Join our host at Bookishly Boisterous to see what others are sharing.
This week has been bumpy, at times, but then a few good things came along. Like a visit with my granddaughter Fiona yesterday.
Plus…I am loving my current read: Finlay Donovan Is Killing It, by Elle Cosimano.
Yesterday was the anniversary of our One Year Lockdown!
- Celebration? Well, we have survived the year, but there were many difficult challenges along the way.
- On the plus side: I have had BOTH vaccines. I am still enjoying my apartment, decorating and rearranging and doing all the things I love with books and movies.
- The downside: I find myself more and more frustrated by the staff here. I tell myself that they, too, have faced challenges and they might also be sick of us! LOL.
- It helped to have that visit with Fiona, whose face and lively chatter always lift my spirits.
- The news here: we will soon slowly begin some outings, and even visits with family in our apartments. Yay!
- I am happy about the state of the union right now. More positivity!
- As for the blogging world, you have all sustained me through these difficult times! Loving this community!

So true, Mary! We hadn’t had any visits for a while, so resuming them, even in this socially distanced room, feels great.

I will be so happy when we can get out and visit safely. I want to go see my new great grandson and his parents so bad. I’m tired of living in fear but I also won’t take any chances with our health. I believe President Biden is going to help us get back to normal.
Have a great weekend and happy reading.

Thanks, Linda, with President Biden in charge, I feel hopeful for the first time in a while. Let’s hang in there a little big longer!

What’s going on with that pic of Fiona? Looks like she’s started a little Hitler mustache. 😉

Ha-Ha, yes, Craig, Fiona does have a tendency to push the envelope with her make-up, hair, and “jewelry.”

Visits with family are so important. We will be allowed to meet another household in our garden at the end of March (all things going well). Beats talking on the doorstep.

That is great, Emma. I don’t know when we can do that, since this residence is stricter than the “outside world.” But I am looking forward to it. Enjoy!

It has to get better once your immune system has kicked in from the vaccine. For you to be able to get out will be so important. You are a heroine as far as I see.

Thanks, Kathryn, this past year has really tested us, hasn’t it? We are learning more about what we can handle when we have to do so!
