Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
With January half over, I am still feeling the intensity of last year and all that it brought. In fact, some of it has carried over into this New Year, and I hate that! But…maybe we can begin to create our New Normal.
I had my first vaccination! The next one comes in three weeks or so. Hopefully. There have been mutterings of shortages. Why am I not surprised?Meanwhile, I am reading and blogging. Two books, both great, and seven blog posts. I also enjoyed some shows and movies, like the pilot of Call Your Mother, on Hulu.
Let’s grab some coffee and take a closer look.

I hope your first vaccination went well with very minimal side effects. 🙂 My week was pretty good. It was super busy but it was better than the previous week in some ways so I will take it. Hah!
I hope you are enjoying The Wife Upstairs! It sounds really good from what I have read from the synopsis.
I hope you have a nice weekend! Happy reading!

So glad you got the vaccine! That’s wonderful. Did you have any reaction to the shot? I’m trying to get it for my parents in SoCal. We have just a few more days before the Inauguration — it’ll be so much better after. Hang on!! Enjoy your reading this week.

I was happy not to have had a reaction…other than a slight headache in the evening that went away with Tylenol. I slept really well, too, Susan; probably because the anxieties are decreasing!
I can’t wait until the Inauguration is behind us, since we do have crazy people trying to stir things up!
Enjoy your week.

I’m glad you got the first dose, Laurel. My mom is scheduled to get her first dose on Jan. 26th. I hope she has the same experience as you! And I’m hoping after she has the second dose I’ll be able to visit her in person. Have a good week and enjoy your reading.

Congrats on the vaccination! And I feel the same- 2021 has turned out to be iffy, with the political stuff hanging over our heads- but we have hope this week. 🙂 Hopefully everything stays calm.

Thanks, Mareli, cute reference to eye charts. I am eager to enjoy the book, and here’s hoping both vaccinations will be just what I need while waiting for others to get their shots. And that everyone starts following the protocols of masks and social distancing while we wait.
Enjoy your week.

I’ve signed up for the vaccine, too, but it will probably be a while before they get to me, as I’m not in any of the at risk groups. Even if I’m a teacher, they might not put me before others, which is fine. I just hope that they will speed up the vaccinating process here, because it’s really slow. I also hope you’ll get your second shot as soon as possible, Laurel-Rain.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading 🙂

So glad you have had the first vaccination, Laurel. That’s great! They are working really hard here – both my in-laws and my mother have had it, as well as my sister who is working in a pharmacy. They have even opened churches and cathedrals to use as vaccination centres…
In the meantime, I know what you mean about the new normal and I’m crossing my fingers that all remains calm during and after the Inauguration. Hopefully all the nonsense stirred up will then subside!

Here’s hoping for a calm down from the insurrectionists! The worst part…there is some suspicion that it was partially an “inside job,” which is especially unnerving.
I am hoping for some of the negative things in our lives to disappear, but I know it will take time. Thanks for visiting, Sarah, and good luck on getting the vaccine soon!

I am glad you were able to get your first vaccine. I have an appointment to get mine this week. Hi Lorraine,
We aren’t due our vaccinations yet, as our age tier has not been called forward, and as hubbie has an underlying health condition, he is likely to get his before me anyway! All of our second round of jabs have now been pushed back to 12 weeks, which is a bit of a pain, but it is what it is!
A lot of people have had good things to say about ‘The Wife Upstairs’, so I put that on my list a couple of weeks ago and I also want to read ‘Blood Orange’, as I read the second Harriet Tyce book ‘The Lies You Told’ and thoroughly enjoyed that.
My! How apt the book ‘Rachel To The Rescue’ is right now. The irony of Rachel’s situation from a British perspective couldn’t be better, so I might just have to give this one a try. Also we both just managed to get our long overdue routine eye-tests done, so the cover art is particularly appropriate too, even though having someone working that close to me right now, was a pretty scary experience!
Thanks for sharing and Stay Safe until that second jab! 🙂

I forgot about Rachel to the Rescue again, so now I’ve put a hold on it through the library. It’s hard to believe it’s mid-January already, but in some ways it feels like it should be mid-March by now, too!
