WEEKLY UPDATES: GREAT MOMENTS…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

How are we moving so quickly through 2020?  I am quite happy about it, of course, as I think it is safe to say this has been the worst year ever!  The one good thing about a year like this one, however, is that we can immerse ourselves in books, movies, and our introverted moments.

This week I read and reviewed three books, which is not a lot, but more than in recent weeks.  And I wrote eight blog posts.

Let’s grab a favorite caffeine beverage and take a closer look at the week.

  1. Eight blog posts! That’s great woohooo! And I bet Obama’s book is super interesting.

Hope you are having a nice weekend! I agree. Good riddance 2020 lol.

Yum! Looks like a nice treat. 🙂

  2. I know 2020 has been an endurance test for sure and you have had the rough end of the deal. But… you are still Covid free and hopefully with a vaccination eventually life can return to somewhat normal. And… towards the end of January things will hopefully be better in terms of the White House.

    1. Oh, yes, Kathryn, here’s to better times after January, but, of course, the Trumpers will continue creating havoc for a while. Sigh.

I am very grateful that this virus happened when I was living in a safe residence! If I couldn’t be in New Zealand, this is the next best thing, lol.

      Enjoy your week!

So the physical copy of Obama’s book came in your mailbox? …. that’s a pretty big one! I have a copy too … I haven’t really started it yet — as too much else is on my reading stack. Still I will get to it — even if getting thru it takes a long while. Enjoy your reads this week!

  5. Hey Laurel-Rain, my week has been okay, thank you. We came out of lockdown only for my town to be put under the highest restrictions, which was a bummer. But thankfully shops could open, so I was able to get some Christmas shopping done and I started putting my Christmas decorations up. Whilst in my reading, I have been working my way slowly through the Victorian classic, Mary Barton by Elizabeth Gaskell. Like you though I will be pleased to see the end of this year! 😅

Take care in the coming week and I hope you find a little more time for reading. 🙏🙂

  6. Seems like many of us are more than ready to see 2020 leave. I just hope 2021 will be better. I want to read A Promised Land. I stopped reading the Shopaholic books awhile ago but I think I might go back to it. I can use something to make me laugh these days.

Hope you have a great week!

    1. Thanks, Yvonne, and I haven’t read any Shopaholic books in a while, either, but I’m enjoying this Christmas one. Although Becky is almost too silly at times, lol. I laugh a lot as I’m reading it.

Enjoy your week, and the countdown to 2021 is on my mind constantly.

  7. Oh man that treat looks delicious!!! I wish I could talk myself into putting down my computer/book/etc and go in the kitchen and make something. It’s that time of year, for gosh sakes!

Hope you have a great week!

  8. I think all of us can agree that 2020 was the worst year ever!

I like the look of I Was Told It Would Get Easier. So glad you are reading the Obama memoir. And Christmas Shopaholic just looks like pure fun.

Your treat of the week looks like it draws from my four favorite food groups: chocolate, ice cream, coffee, and wine. Count me in!

    1. Yes, Deb, I love those four favorite food groups! LOL

I will probably be reading the Obama book slowly, savoring it, while also reading other books that I can gobble down quickly.

I enjoyed I Was Told It Would Get Easier. I am also laughing through Christmas Shopaholic.

    1. How great that you can go into a kitchen and make treats! I haven’t had my own kitchen for a year and a half. I do have a fridge, a microwave, and a coffee pot.

Thanks for visiting, Anne, and have a great week.

I hope 2021 is the change we all need! I know it won’t all switch on the turn of midnight but here’s to gradual betterment and some normalcy returning! 🙂
Before then, Christmas. Christmas is always nice even if this year is going to be a very different kind of Christmas.

    1. Thanks, Cheryl, and I agree that nothing will ever be quite the same again. Too many losses and a sense of how divided the country is, with some people unwilling to take necessary precautions.

Enjoy your week…I am loving Christmas Shopaholic.

It is hard to believe that it is December already. How strange that the year has seemed endless but going by so quickly at the same time. I have The Promised Land as an audiobook but haven’t started it yet. It will require quite a time commitment. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  11. Hi Lorraine,

I read and reviewed ‘The Lies You Told’ a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I hope that you do to.

I also have my eye on a couple of other titles, which are heading for my list ‘Clear My Name’ and ‘Open House’.

This was a lovely, interesting post, you have definitely been busy with your reading and blogging!

Take Care and Stay Safe 🙂
