WEEKLY UPDATES: AN INTERIOR WORLD…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

My week flew by, but I managed to read and review THREE books this time.  And they were all good ones.  I like when that happens.

The week was full with every other day in the dining room, alternating with days in my apartment, playing around with my blogs and my interiors, and watching movies and shows.  I finished all three seasons of Designated Survivor and saw an intense movie from 2016 called Christine, about a thirty-something journalist pushing the envelope and taking a drastic action at the end.

My new comforter arrived this week, and I am eager to curl up on it.

Let’s grab some coffee and take a closer look at my week.

Three seasons of Designated Survivor?! I watched some of the first season when it came out, but didn’t realize so much time had passed there was already three seasons. That happens with me and book series too. I read the first book and the next thing I know the author has published six more on the series.

What a lovely comforter! I love the design. It’s so cheerful.

I hope you enjoy your reading and new books! Have a great weekend and week ahead, Laurel-Rain.

    1. Thanks for visiting, Wendy, and I loved watching the show on Netflix, with all the seasons available to binge watch, lol.

I am having a great reading day, catching up on some books I’ve had for a while.

I might make up the bed with the new comforter! I love the colors, too.

    1. Yes, I love Netflix bingeing. And curling up on a new comforter sounds good, too. When we’re inside so much, we do have to focus on the interiors. LOL

I am definitely looking forward to reading and viewing, Greg. Enjoy your weekend, and stay safe.

  2. The comforter looks lovely and bright and nice to have a change up. The quiche looks pretty nice too. Good that you are getting to the dining room every second day. At least out of the four walls! Hope your reading is great this week too.

    1. Thanks, Kathryn, I realize that after almost six months indoors, with only brief walks in the back courtyard, interiors are my world…apparently. So sprucing them up helps.

Enjoy your indoors…and if you can get outdoors safely, go for it!

  3. Ooo you’re always making me hungry with these posts – That quiche and a glass of red wines looks great! 😋 I am pleased to hear you’ve been enjoying your reading and your alternating days in the dining room. Take care and happy reading! 😃

  4. I have a patchwork comforter as well. It makes the bedroom pop! and I’m glad you enjoyed all three of your books. My woody allen book was great if you’re interested. If you have plans to be a director and want to know the route..this seems pretty close.

    1. Ps. I’m not sure why you’re blog is only remembering my wordpress account as I log in, I’ll have to look into that, because i’m worried that when I log out of my wordpress, i may not be able to leave a comment on your blog.

      1. Perhaps you can leave a link to your posts, as I haven’t been able to find your blog. The URL that shows up on your email goes to a blank site.

Enjoy your books and your week…and stay safe.

    1. Thanks, Sarah, I do enjoy playing around with color and design. I used to have a big stack of design books, but none of them made their way here during the move! LOL. I did buy a couple of replacements afterwards, though.

Enjoy your week and your books…and stay safe!

  5. Three good books is a great reading week for me. I had several this week, but the ones I liked best were children’s books. Girls of Summer looks good. I’ve got 28 Summers waiting for me at the library. Can’t wait to hear what you think about GoS.

    Beautiful comforter. Love the colors.

Quiche. Wow. It looks delicious. I need to try some quiche here soon.

    Have a good week, Laurel!

    1. Thanks, Linda, it is fun to buy new things, even if they are bedding. Or maybe especially if they are bedding, since I love feeling cozy when I read in bed, or eat breakfast in bed.

Enjoy your week and your books. I hope you love Wendy Walker’s latest.

That comforter looks so cosy, the weather has started to turn chilly here as well so have dug the fleece blankets out of the blanket box. I have watched some episodes of Designated Survivor but then lost interest, maybe I should give it a binge watch. Unfollow Me looks good, might be one to add to my TBR. Hope you have a good week 🙂

  7. Hi Lorraine,

I love the crisp brightness of your comforter, it keeps that touch of summer lingering on, whilst providing that bit of extra warmth, now that autumn is on its way!

I like the sound of both of your new downloads, just the kind of storylines I like to curl up with.

I was a bit confused about the ‘Christine’ film, until I worked out from IMDB that I have only ever watched the 1983 horror film of the same name, about a demon killer car! Your ‘Christine’ film sounds well worth checking out, so thanks for the recommendation!

Stay Safe and have a good reading week 🙂

    1. Thanks for visiting, Yvonne, and I had never heard anything about this particular Christine film…I just stumbled upon it at Hulu. But I was soon totally absorbed in it.

I am really enjoying my comforter. I put it on the bed yesterday after the housekeeping staff cleaned my apartment (one of the few things I enjoy about living here!). I then took some photos, of course. LOL

Enjoy your week and stay safe.

We tried a new recipe this week for a chicken stew with cornmeal dumplings which made a huge amount and was very good. Sometime the American Heart Association Cookbook really comes up with a winner. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

I love the new comforter–such a great use of colors. I’ve seen some of your new arrangements on FB. You amaze me with how you get everything to look so wonderful together.

Unfollow Me and Girls of Summer are books I would probably enjoy. Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog today.

  10. What did you decide about the outdoor haircuts, or are you still deciding? I finally went and got my hair cut, but no color, so I was in and out in under 30 minutes. It was challenging for the stylist to cut around the ears with the mask on, I think, but my hair came out OK. I keep seeing Nancy Thayer’s beach-y books, but I still haven’t read any of them yet. I think the last one I read by her was Between Husbands and Friends!

What a pretty comforter. Does that mean it’s getting to be fall? I’m curious about the movie Christine …. is that on Netflix? I might check that out. We are watching a bit of the series Borgen on Netflix and the Windsor series on CNN. Hope you have a great week.
