I’m glad your Covid test was negative. I’ve had two Covid tests — both of which were negative which was not surprising since I had no symptoms but still a relief. What do you think about every 2 weeks being tested? Does that seem safe to you or excessive? I’m glad they are keeping you safe there. But they need better wine LOL. I’ve been in Southern Calif almost a month now but go back North on Monday. I feel Sad and happy at the same time. Have a great week.

I am not sure we need the tests every two weeks, but I guess it is better than no tests. Yes, we definitely need better wine, so I’ve been buying my own bottles to fill in. LOL.
I can imagine going home would feel good, especially if your home is safe.
Thanks for visiting, Susan, and stay safe.

The Dark Flood Rises caught my eye with that title and the cover. Hope it’s a good one.
Be well this week!

A negative test result makes me happy…and hoping that everyone stays safe in the months ahead.

Yuck, sorry I hate rhubarb! The Meghan/Harry book should be interesting. Good the test was negative!!

Actually, it is rhubarb/strawberry pie, so that is less tart. LOL. I wouldn’t like plain rhubarb.
I am eager to read the Meghan/Harry book. Enjoy your week and your books, Kathryn.

Testing for Covid is ridiculously expensive in SA. If you don’t have any severe symptoms, you don’t get tested. That’s just it. Very glad that you are still safe and healthy!
I haven’t seen the Harry/Megan book, don’t know if I want to read it. Might just skim over all the reviews that are bound to come in.
Hope you will have a good week, here’s my The Sunday Post #7

We are being tested so much because we are the vulnerable population in this senior residential center. I think we get special rates? I wish that everyone could get tested whenever they want, and the government should be covering it. There is so much our government should have done…but didn’t. Sigh.
Enjoy your week, Mareli, and stay safe.

I am glad you got negative on your test. We are yet to get tested but we don’t have any symptoms so i don’t think it is an absolute must right now. Testing so frequently seems too much, but it is better than the alternative.

I am glad to hear you got a negative test result. I haven’t had rhubarb for years! I used to pick if from my grandads garden then smother it in sugar, it was delicious!
Have a lovely week.

Thanks, Heather, my mother had rhubarb in her garden, but I wasn’t crazy about it. However, this pie is mixed with strawberry, so it isn’t as tart. LOL.
Enjoy your week and your books.

I almost bought myself that Harry and Meghan book. But I had my doubts since I don’t want to read gossip.
I’m glad to hear your Covid test came back negative.

Testing every two weeks should ensure that if anyone contracts COVID and is asymptomatic, they will still pick it up, so you should be absolutely safe:). Glad your first test is negative! I hope you have a peaceful, healthy week, Lauren.

I don’t understand the testing every 2 weeks but if you have a lot of people “traffic” I suppose that is needed to make sure there aren’t outbreaks. We haven’t been tested but we stay home just the two of us and have no symptoms. The routine is a comfort but we are trying to do more when we can. Strawberry-rhubarb is my favorite!

Glad you are in a good routine. I like the idea of being tested every two weeks. It is reassuring to see that everyone is doing well, even though no one is showing symptoms. Staff should probably be tested often, too, I think.
Margaret Drabble is such a great writer. I hope you enjoy this book.
Look at that pie. Yum!
Have a great week.

Glad you had a negative test. I recently had one, too, and even without symptoms was relieved to get that news. It’s good they will be testing every two weeks. Seems like testing in general is, unfortunately, on the decline now. I’m not a big fan of rhubarb, but adding strawberries (especially in pies) makes a huge difference. Hope you have a good reading week… most of the books you’ve mentioned here are new to me.

The whole Pandemic thing is wearyng, isn’t it?
Now we have the postal issues to add another layer of concern, and sometimes it is more than we should have to ponder. Books help, though, don’t they?

Thanks for stopping by, Rae, and good news about our negative test results. We are still on lockdown here, but do come in contact with staff, who are supposedly being careful. But five of them tested positive in June and July! So that’s why we’ll be getting tested frequently. They will be, too, of course.

Strawberry rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream is one of my all-time favorite desserts! I have yet to have a COVID-19 test. I tried to get one last month and there were so many hoops to jump through, my appointment was going to be after the quarantine period was up, anyway! Margaret Drabble is an author I’ve always meant to read more of. Enjoy your reading week!

I think it is so wrong that the testing process is full of obstacles. Another thing we can thank the government for!
Mine comes fairly easily because I am in a senior residential center. I guess that is one thing I can thank my age for! LOL.
The dessert was delicious. Enjoy your week, Laurie.

I love rhubarb, but hubbie hates it, so it is a dessert I generally only have if we eat out and it is on the menu. Now! eating out, that would be a novelty, wouldn’t it? I am certainly sick of my own cooking! 🙂
The Margaret Drabble book made me smile, as I can totally relate to her ethos on life and ageing. I hope you are seeing the funny side of the story as you are reading too!
You can’t beat a bit of Susan Lewis and I’m sure you will enjoy this one.
