Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
Today I had a shopping adventure and bought two pairs of new pants, followed by lunch and a margarita in the same shopping center. Now I’m back in my apartment, pounding out my updates. I only read and reviewed two books this week, but wrote eight blog posts. I am very happy that the Impeachment Hearing is over, even though the results didn’t turn out the way I had hoped. I knew they wouldn’t, of course. But I will put it all behind me. And I’m glad that regular TV shows are back!
To soothe myself during these frustrating times, I watched Dirty John and The Laundromat on Netflix.
As I type, my desk lamp is on and my wicker chair is positioned correctly…it is so much more comfy! Here is what my desk/chair looked like, before (left) and after (right).
Grab some coffee or tea, and let’s take a closer look at the week:

I hear you on the impeachment. Not the result I wanted either but it’s so stressful right now, all the acrimony. I try to keep informed then I want to tune it all out lol!
Lunch and a margarita sounds pretty good! And looks like you have some cool looking thrillers too…

Thanks, Greg, I am happy to have a break from the political acrimony…although there are items I will have to scroll past in order to get that reprieve.
I do love escaping to lunch and that margarita…and in the evenings in my residential dining room, they serve wine. We had quite a conversation tonight! LOL

I’m so happy the big “I” is over and we must ALL unite and make our vote count in November. I love your shopping, lunch adventure – sounded fun.

Thanks, Diane, I am hoping for November to change things, too. In the dining room of my residence, there are a table of us who have vigorous conversations, and I have been enjoying it so much! It has taken me several months to find like-minded individuals.
The shopping and lunch adventures were fun. Enjoy your weekend and the upcoming week.

I love your wicker chair. I’ve heard so much arguments about American Dirt. Some support it some spout about it with venom. I think it would be difficult to read but worth it. I nearly picked it up at the shop but put it back, nervous it would be too tough.

Thanks, Kathryn, I am a big fan of wicker and have been since the 70s.
As for American Dirt, I like Oprah and she gave it her blessing by picking it for her Book Club, so I will try to be open minded about it. Who knows how it will turn out for me, but I’m hoping to love it.
Enjoy your week…and I’ll try to read American Dirt soon and give my thoughts, for whatever they’re worth, lol.

I did hear Oprah giving it her blessing and asking we be open to it. I thought that was great.

I am definitely in the mood to treat myself to some new clothes. Hope you enjoy your new items!
The Wives is definitely on my TBR pile to complete in the coming months – I’m interested in how they came to that arrangement and what happens in it.
Enjoy your new wicker chair position and week ahead 🙂

Thanks, Danica, I loved shopping and finding pants that I am going to enjoy; I especially liked how I have dropped down a few sizes, which shouldn’t surprise me since I lost more than 50 lbs.in the past eight months. I had changed my diet drastically after I got sick and realized I actually preferred my almost vegetarian diet!
I am eager to read The Wives. Enjoy your week!

I agree it was definitely a disappointment. I had to practice some extra meditation time to wind down from it all.

Lunch and a margarita, does sound like a great day. I always wish I could find some more people to hang out with in the afternoon, but since most people work 9-5, I often eat my pb & J and write in the corner at the library. Lol, one day it will happen I believe it.

I always think this time of the year is best to get clothes – nothing worse than trying on items when it’s all hot and sweaty… As for the political situation – pah! It’s no better this side of the Atlantic, either – and I’m absolutely tuning it out, given I cannot do anything about it. Love the look of that yummy pudding, Laurel. Have a lovely week:))

Thanks, Sarah, I am sorry that things aren’t much better on your side of the Atlantic, although none of your political figures are as bad as ours…lol.
Tuning things out can help.

Hm. I’m not so convinced about the quality of our politicians – we are led barefaced liars, happy to break promises they made to the electorate for their own shoddy ends… *deep breaths* And now I’m tuning them out again:)).

All your books look good! I need to go shopping for work pants because on March 1st we’re going to different tops and pants. I had American Dirt on my list to read and then took it off because of negative reviews, then added it again after seeing some good reviews.Still not 100% sure I’ll end up reading it. I love that wicker chair!

I’m with you on the result being expected but bad. If everything was so great, why couldn’t they hear witnesses and see documents? We certainly all need to vote in November!
You made great progress with posts and read some good books. I want your food/drink and dessert.
Have a wonderful week and enjoy your books!

Thanks, Anne, in my opinion, the innocent should welcome witnesses and evidence…but we know why they didn’t want to learn more. The Senators are under the thumb of you-know-who.
Yes, voting is the way…and we have to hope we don’t have outside interference again!
Enjoy your week and your books. I did love my shopping and lunch outing.

I ordered 2 pairs of shoes. When they came, I didn’t like one pair and the other pair didn’t fit. I drove 2 hours today to return/exchange them and only found one pair of shoes I liked.

I found the impeachment process disappointing but probably for different reasons. From a political point, the final vote was perhaps a foregone conclusion. However, the House has the responsibility to pursue the evidence and they relied on hearsay testimony, failed to pursue more direct witnesses and totally abused the fair process by denying the ‘accused’ the right to participate until the last week of the hearings. If witnesses had been allowed in the Senate trial (other than the 17 witness transcripts that were accepted into evidence) the President would have had the right to recall EVERY witness for cross-examination plus more. Our legislators could have been tied up for months. Anyway – now we move on to what will no doubt be a spirited (and polarized) election.
I’m glad your shopping was fun and that you have found a good arrangement for your office.
I’m also very glad that you enjoyed Deep State. I’ll pop over to see your review. 🙂
Enjoy your week and new books!

Interesting points about the investigation, but there was also an issue of the White House blocking the witnesses the House called during their investigation. Plus, the investigation in the House revealed that the President actually refused to participate. Sounds like we have a different view of the process. We can definitely agree, I’m sure, that the Country is deeply divided by this President and the Senate.
I did enjoy the shopping…and Deep State.
