WEEKLY UPDATES: ANOTHER GOOD WEEK..,

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

I finished my third book of the week today, and it was a quick one; I couldn’t stop reading.  I love how thrillers help us move things along.  With three books and six blog posts for the week, I am feeling like I’M BACK!  And yes, it’s about time.  This year I finally joined the Goodreads Challenge again, and since my goal is relatively small (150 books), I am confident I’ll make it.  So far I have finished 11 books.

I continue with my usual obsessive behaviors, like rearranging things, ordering more items from Amazon, and pushing ahead with my efforts to fill my one bookshelf.  I also ordered another (small) shelf for the overflow that I anticipate.

To pamper myself, I headed to my daughter’s salon for a styling.

Now it is time for the weekly coffee treat while we take a closer look at the details.

I just finished “The Vanishing” by Jayne Krentz the other day I liked it quite a bit. I recommend it. I think this will be a good series. Also just finished the latest Dana Stabenow mystery ” No Fixed Line” I loved it!. I have American Dirt in my pile of books I just received from the library. Right now I am reading “Tracking Game” by Margaret Mizushima so far so good. I really like this series. Next week I have “Bitter Falls” by Rachal Caine, American Dirt, and Almost Just Friends by Jill Shalvis so a good week of reading to look forward to there.

A good thriller does make for a quick read, doesn’t it? I love your hair! You look great. I hope you enjoy all your new books! I read a couple of Harris’s novels this month (Gunnie Rose series) and enjoyed them both. I’m reading a science fiction novel at the moment. I hope you have a great week, Laurel-Rain.

  3. What a wonderful book haul – I love the fantasy Charlaine Harris writes, but have only read one Aurora Teagarden mystery. I hope you enjoy it… And the hair looks fabulous:). Have a great week, Laurel – you certainly look BACK!

  4. Soup and a margarita sound so good after getting pampered at the salon! I definitely agree that thrillers get me back in the swing of things. They keep you at the edge of your seat and you need to finish the book to find out what happened. Enjoy your week and filling your shelves!

Sounds like you had a good week! A good thriller can be so fast paced! I so want to read The Vanishing and I am on the list on overdrive but it might be a while…lol.

  6. Mmm soup!!! I can’t wait for lunch today, we have some fantastic chicken noodle soup waiting for us to heat up after our hike. Lol.

A day at the salon sounds so nice! It’s good to do those things for ourselves! And yay to ordering more books and shelves. 🙂 I indulged in some online shopping this week as well – I bought a color printer, a wooden alphabet board for Wyatt to practice with, and a really pretty lavender smudge stick that comes with a little crystal on it. 🙂

    Have a great week!!

    1. Thanks, Sophie, today marks the end of eight months here, and I’m grateful to find my routines in this new place. Settling in nicely. We even have a dining table for six and have filled it with compatible residents who enjoy talking and laughing.

      Have a great week.

  8. Hey welcome back! That must be an awesome feeling. And sounds like a pretty darn good reading week for you! 11 books is awesome. I’m going a little slower haha but at least I’m out of my reading slump more or less.

I need to read the Krentz book soon

    Mmm soup! Perfect for winters!

Love that you can label some of your OCD’s. Let’s see..what are some of mine. cutting my nails too short, having to smile at someone’s joke whether it’s funny or not..and let’s see..maybe spending a little too much time waiting in my car outside of the gym before I decide it’s time to go in.

I’ve seen Deep State featured a lot lately. I like your ‘relatively small’ challenge being 150 books, I wouldn’t be able to read that many in my wildest dreams. I do enjoy the Goodreads challenge and I’ve set mine at 70 books.

  11. Glad you are back! I was feeling more caught up until my computer decided to freeze up yesterday. But wow, all those 5 star reads this week! I love the look of the dessert. I made apple crisp and served it with ice cream this last week.

I hope this week you have more 5 star reads! Enjoy!

  12. The Cue Card

Hi Laurel: I will let you vet The Guest Book for me so I can see if I should read it. Since it came out I’ve been sort of on the fence after seeing various comments about it. And American Dirt is sure getting a lot of discussion … & controversy but I think I will eventually get to it too. Enjoy your week.

I’m glad you had a good week. Your hair looks very pretty!
I’m curious about the Oprah Pick.. I saw her talking about in on Instagram and I’ve been trying to decide if I should get it or not. It’s not my usual genre.
I hope this week is another good one. 😉
    Happy reading.
