Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
Another great week! I’ve been reading from my print volumes, in addition to one e-book, just so I can add physical books to my shelves. Yes, my library is growing. I have a few more books on three of the shelves, mixed in with photos. Some of the books I ordered and received this week were ones I had previously owned…and lost in the move. Sigh.
I read and reviewed three books this week and wrote five blog posts…yes, fewer posts than in previous weeks. I’m trying to balance things out.
I’m viewing Season 6 of Grace & Frankie and have seen nine of the thirteen episodes. Savoring them, since I don’t want the season to be over too soon.
I’ve done some blog changes…headers and some little images to showcase “my thoughts” in my reviews. Like these: On the left, for this blog’s reviews; for Serendipity, check out the one on the right; then take a peek at the ones left and right at the bottom…for Curl up and Read and Rainy Days and Mondays.
So…now I’m ready to grab more coffee…and then we’ll take a closer look at my week.
LAST WEEK ON THE BLOGS:
Tuesday Excerpts: “Shelter Mountain”
Tuesday Potpourri: Bookish Love…
Coffee Chat: Adventures in the Interior, Etc.
Bookish Friday: “The Country Guesthouse”
Review: Regretting You, by Colleen HooverReview: The Daughter, by Jane ShemiltReview: No Place Like Home, by Rebecca Muddiman

Thanks, Greg, I love being surrounded by physical books, although I’ll never have as many as I once did. But I will fill up this bookshelf, lol.
I think The Night Swim will be a good one.
Enjoy your week.

I hate rhubarb! Just saying but the rest looks good! I just need to watch Gracie and Frankie but I am hopeless at viewing – I never get round to it. I am still mid Virgin river and The Crown! Chuckling at those re buys!

Thanks, Kathryn, mixing the rhubarb with strawberries makes all the difference for me.
As for re buys…I can’t believe I’ve replaced six books lost to me in the move!
Enjoy your week with fabrics and quilting… and books, of course.

It’s good you got your old fav books back. Once I moved when I was only 21 and had to give all the books on my bookshelf away, basically all the books I’ve ever owned. But it was to a coworker, and I like to think someone is enjoying them somewhere.

Thanks, Trin, I had donated a few hundred of my books over the years, but the favorites never left my shelves…until my big move this year. I like being able to replace some of them.
Enjoy your week!

I can’t remember the last physical book I’ve read. I’ve completely changed to e-books, but all reading is good reading 🙂 I love the books on your list. I have to get back to the Robyn Carr series. America’s Reluctant Prince and The Night Swim both have my interest. Your dessert looks yummy! Have a great week!

It’s nice to get things organized and update your blog look. You read some solidly good books this week. I tend to read all ebooks or audiobook since they go with me everywhere so easily. Strawberry / rhubarb pie is my favorite!
Have a lovely week with some great reads!

I feel so sad to think about your lost books. I’m glad you are slowly starting to replace them. I need to see books in my house to feel happy, and I bet you do, too.
A new book by Chris Bojalian! I saw him speak at the Texas Book Festival some years ago. He filled the room with his fans.
I like your new images. Isn’t that fun! Canva is the app I use to play with images.
Have a great week!

Thanks, Deb, I do need books surrounding me to feel at home and happy! I may not have enough of them to achieve that bliss, but it’s a move in the right direction.
I like how Bohjalian has stopped by and commented on my reviews in the past. I would love to hear him speak.
I have fun with my images. I use Pic Monkey.
Enjoy your week.

You are buying books and I am getting rid of some of mine. I have so many at this point that I am thinning some of the herd. What a bummer some of your books got lost.
Shelter Mouuntain sounds right up my alley. I’ll have to add it to my list.
That pie looks good. I love strawberry rhubarb. Hope you have a great week.

I tend to buy Kindle copies of books I already own because I like reading on the Kindle better than holding a regular hardcover or paperback book. Your shelf does look good though. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

So much to love about this post, Laurel-Rain. ☺️ First, I’m sorry you lost some of your books in the move. 😔 You make me want to read my Robyn Carr book. 😃 I really enjoyed Regretting You as well. I think it was 5 stars for me…. took me back to the carefree young love days. 😀 I’ve never had rhubarb. What does it taste like? Could you compare the taste to another, similar fruit?

Thanks, Laurie, and it is hard to describe rhubarb…it does have a sour (or tart) taste, but is good when mixed with strawberries.
Enjoy your week.

I’m resisting looking at NetGalley until I get a little ahead on my TBR list. LOL I know a few people who are trying to re-find books they’ve lost along the way – good luck in your searches!

Thanks, Becki, I also tend to avoid requesting NetGalley books…unless I know I’m going to love them, and if I don’t have too many already!

The Red Lotus looks quite beguiling. I have only read one of his novels: The Double Bind from 2007, which was all right. How are you holding up during the Impeachment trial? Aren’t the Repubs nuts? It frays my nerves if he gets out of being booted from office when he’s such a crook and a liar. Impeachable actions for sure!! How do they get away with a sham no witness trial?

Thanks for visiting, Susan, and I am definitely frustrated with the way that Moscow Mitch is handling things; no witnesses, which is unbelievable. Those Trump attorneys twist everything around and lie, just like he does.
Schiff did a good job, but I’m afraid it will be for nothing. The Senators have already decided how it will go.
