Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
Another week has passed, and each day brings more strength and energy. Now I am back to reading, blogging, and binge-watching; I have only read and reviewed two books this week, but I’ve written four blog posts.
On Netflix, I found Unbelievable and The Crown, Season 3. I watched a movie on Amazon Prime called Where’d You Go, Bernadette. I remember reading the book in 2012. I loved the movie, since Cate Blanchett starred as Bernadette.
I am looking forward to Thanksgiving, and will be celebrating twice next Saturday; once with my son Brett and some of his kids, as well as my daughter and one granddaughter. On Saturday night, I’ll be joining my daughter’s in-laws for a feast.
Let’s grab some coffee and take a closer look at my week.

Thanks, Sarah, I am very happy about my progress in recovery. It could have gone another way. The Oakland doctors did their magic, and I’m benefitting from it.
Yes for pumpkin pie! Enjoy your week.

Glad to hear you’re feeling better! Multiple Thanksgivings are a treat. We had one with each side of the family (Canadian Thanksgiving back in October).
No pumpkin pie, though. I feel a bit cheated…

Hmm I bet Where did you go Bernadette? would be good in the movie format. Maybe one day I’ll get to see it. I enjoyed the book. Good to hear that you are getting your mojo back.

Thanks, Kathryn, I enjoyed the movie more than the book…the book had a lot of emails, which I don’t especially like as a format.

I sort of celebrate Thanksgiving twice this week. I organized my department’s Thanksgiving lunch yesterday at work. We have a lot of international students so it isn’t a traditional meal, but the Americans do bring traditional dishes. So it is kind of nice – the internationals get to sample our traditional dishes and the Americans get something a bit different as the internationals bring dishes from their home countries. Tomorrow I’ll have dinner with my parents.

Have a wonderful holiday Laurel. There will be more pie I hope. I’ll look for the Bernadette movie. Is the new Crown season good? We got rid of Netflix but now have HBO. It was a tradeoff …. but we still have Amazon Prime …. and recently finished watching Season 2 of Jack Ryan …. we didn’t think it was as good as Season 1 but okay. We also finished Modern Love on Prime and that was decent.

I loved The Crown again…I can’t compare the seasons, as I’ve enjoyed them all so far. I think the new portrayer of Queen Elizabeth looks more like the actual queen.
I enjoyed Modern Love, although it wasn’t my favorite new show.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

Pumpkin pie is a weakness of mine. I don’t wait until Thanksgiving. As soon as I see one in the bakery section, I buy it.

Thanks, Leslie, I love pumpkin pie year round, too; when Marie Callender’s closed its restaurants, I was sad. They always had it throughout the year.
