WEEKLY UPDATES: THE SURGERY IS BEHIND ME…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

I am back home, and the surgery is behind me.  The four hour trip to and from was exhausting, especially afterwards, since I had a little setback on the second day…an electrolyte imbalance.  But we made it back, and I literally fell into bed.

Luckily, they were able to remove the gall bladder laparoscopically, and the abdominal pain is minimal.  However, I’m struggling a little with my legs, back pain, and having to use the walker again.  Hopefully for just a little while.

My reading was slight (one book!), and I only wrote one blog post.

LAST WEEK ON THE BLOGS:

Tuesday Excerpts:  “Elevator Pitch”

Review:  If You Only Knew, by Kristan Higgins

INCOMING BOOKS:

Empty mailbox!  Downloaded two e-books.

The Family Upstairs, by Lisa Jewell

Tell Me Everything, by Amy Hatvany

Glad your back home and your surgery went well. Hopefully you will feel better every day.
I finished reading “Life and Other Inconveniences” last week then I started and am still slogging through Cathy Lambs newest book “All About Evie” which, I am liking OK. I really loved the premise of this book when I saw it/ read about it, but the execution, well I have been reading on this one four days now. Usually I tear through her books in a day or two. I guess you can’t win them all. I had a stellar reading month last month and this month is off to a rough start.

  2. Laurel, so great to see your post-surgery post. I hope it’s smooth sailing from here on. Thank goodness for walkers – they serve an important purpose. In the meantime, I hope your reading has you tearing through books 😀

  4. Good to hear you are home and it is all over. You will need time to recover, it is still surgery. The trip sounds really awful. I thought we had it bad travelling to hospital but that is a long trip especially after surgery. Even the trip by itself would need time for recovery.

    1. Thanks, Cheryl, that is so true about no place like home, even though my current home is still fairly new to me. I was very happy to walk through that door, see my things, and even see the staff around the residence.

      Enjoy your week!

I’m becoming quite a Lisa Jewell fan as most everything I’ve read by her I’ve enjoyed.
