WEEKLY UPDATES: THE GOOD & THE BAD OF MY WEEK…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

Another great week has passed, with three books read and reviewed and six blog posts written.  I also enjoyed a hair styling on Friday.  What I am not enjoying this week are the antics of my laptop, with my cursor leaping crazily from one spot to another, and none of my efforts are paying off.  Sigh.

Meanwhile…I’m happy to have had some time on the weekends to catch up on movies and shows that are streaming on Prime and Netflix.  Last Sunday I enjoyed viewing Blonde, a movie based on a book of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates.

On Netflix, there are several shows with additional episodes to watch, so I’ll keep busy with those.

Let’s take a closer look at my week…but first, grab some coffee or tea.

  1. Oh no- I hate computer/ laptop issues. Hope it’s not too serious. And sounds like you had a pretty good reading/ blogging week! My reading has been so down lately- I’m hoping this week will be the one where it rebounds? We’ll see lol.

    That tart looks delicious. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Greg, I hope to resolve the computer issues with a Geek Squad conversation…the last time this happened, I found a way to disable the touchpad, and that did it. I can’t find the way into the settings to disable it this time. One of the Windows 10 updates probably removed that fix! LOL

      Enjoy your reading…may it rebound!

    1. Yes, Kathryn, I just got it a year ago! I had that same issue a few months ago and found a way to disable the touchpad. I suspect the crazy Windows 10 Updates for messing things up. I do have Geek Squad services, so I’ll call them one of these days.

I don’t even like the way my mouse scrolls these days, either…it goes too fast. I’m sure there’s a fix for that, too. LOL

Enjoy your week and your books.

  2. Glad that you managed to get so much done, especially when your laptop is being a pain. I had exactly the same issue, so I went out and bought a mouse with a usb and plugged it in. And all the jumping about of the cursor stopped. It’s a bit of a nuisance as it ties up one of my usb ports, but I reckon it’s worth it. Have a great week, Laurel:)

Sounds like you had a good week Laurel. Sorry to hear about those computer problems though. I hate it when things don’t work well with computers! Or phones for that matter.
Have a great week and happy reading!

  4. I’m glad to see how much you enjoyed The Testaments. A person who can write so well that I enjoy a sequel is the mark of a master writer for me.

My space bar stopped working on my laptop a few weeks back, and I was told to take it into the Apple Store. Just before I left my house, I impulsively decided to take along my iPad as the keyboard hadn’t been connecting well to the iPad. Imagine my surprise to learn that both keyboards were under a recall! I got them both replaced for free, though I did have to wait eleven days for my laptop. I hope your laptop troubles are easily resolved.

    Have a great week!

  5. Beware Of The Reader

Laptops have a mind of their own Laurel! I swear that some days they are dead set on making our life just …frustrating! But that being said if I go by the ratings you gave, these reads were really “it” for you! And no health problems mentioned either so that makes me happy! Have a wonderful Sunday Laurel and a week “sans” laptop issues.

    1. Thanks, Kathy, I agree so much about computers! I’m trying something unexpected…I ordered a new mouse. Maybe a new one will help. Or I’m just desperate. LOL

Looking forward to the Reluctant Prince. I got the hardcover so I could enjoy the photos, too.

      Have a great week.

  7. That cranberry apple tart looks amazing!!! Mmm some of my favorite flavors.

I love JCO but I went through a phase of reading a bunch of her books back to back to back and then I just felt like laying on my floor for the rest of my life, I felt so down and depressed. Lol. They are so heavy and intense. I need to space them out. How was the movie? I actually never read that one.

  8. Oh, no… not computer woes again! I know how frustrating that is and hope all is resolved soon. I enjoyed reading your review of The Grammarians on goodreads. My daughter won a copy in their giveaway and will pass it on to me at Thanksgiving. I’d also like to read Elin Hilerbrand’s latest sometime this winter. Hope you have a good week!

  9. Computer problems are the worst. I am glad that my husband can always fix them. That apple tart looks delicious. Yummy! You had some interesting reads last week. I am looking forward to listening to the new Hildenbrand.

  10. I listen to Elin Hilderbrand’s books on audio. Every time I listen to her newest, I think that’s the last one I’ll read and eventually I find myself borrowing and downloading the next one, too! They’re addictive, in a good way.

  11. I can’t stand it when my computer doesn’t work. You are reading things which look so heavy, thought – provoking When I am this tired, I have to read lighter things and more romance or murder mysteries. I don’t know why mystery is such an easy genre to read. I love cranberry apple crumble. Have a lovely week and enjoy your reads!
