Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
The week felt long and sad, with the loss of a friend’s daughter in a car accident. Reading helped, though, and the two books I finished were great. I’m halfway through the third one, but decided to post this anyway. Yesterday was a day of pampering, with a mani-pedi and a freshening of the “purple” in my hairstyle.
I spent the week changing up some blog headers. I do that when I need a distraction. I also enjoyed some Amazon Prime movies, like Destroyer, with Nicole Kidman (about an undercover cop who gets too deep under).
Let’s grab another cup of coffee and peek at the details of the week.

That was my week. What did yours look like? Yesterday, I took a slice of this pie home with me…after my pampering at the salon.
***
I finished reading “The Girl He Used To Know” it started out kind of slow but got better as it went along, and the last 25% of the book I thought was really good. I was a love story but not the usual kind of love story. I will be interested to see if you end up reading and liking it.

Loss is so difficult. My dad’s good friend passed away this week, and he lived a long, happy life, but we miss him so much…what a light he was in the world.
I think you are doing the right thing by pressing on. The purple is beautiful. My hair leans toward blue as I’ve gone a natural these past few years, but it is inexpensive and fun, in an unexpected way.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on The Editor. I am curious about that one.

Thanks, Deb, sorry for your dad’s loss, too. I realized the other day that I’ve lost several people in the month of April! My eldest brother (years ago); my cousin, also years ago; my step-granddaughter, last year; and now, sweet Paige.
Distractions do help us move through them…until we can heal.
Enjoy your week.

I’m glad the reading helped it always helps me too. I gotta say I’m more interested in Keith Urban and his Entertainer of the Year at the ACM than Nicole Kidman. lol

Thanks, Anne, I do love Keith Urban…but Nicole’s acting is so diverse. She can play “pretty and sexy,” but also gritty and grubby.
The Key Lime pie was great…and pampering myself with purple and good books does help a little. Enjoy your week.

I am so sorry for your loss, Laurel-Rain. And for your friend. I cannot even imagine what she is going through, having lost her daughter.
I love your purple hair! I have been considering getting a silver streak in my bangs. My hair stylist thinks it would be fun and I could change the colors up now and then–blue or purple or even pink. I haven’t worked up the courage yet. Haha. Maybe someday.
I love the sound of your new books! I bet they will keep you on the edge of your seat. Maybe I need something like that given my recent reading funk.
I hope you have a better week this week, Laurel-Rain. Take care of yourself.

Books will be a healing thing for me right now….and I also love the purple. When I developed an allergy to hair dye, my daughter found the purple, which is not a dye.

I love the purple, it’s my favourite colour, but when I mentioned using it to hide some of my greys my teenage girls forbade it! I’m glad you found some happiness this week, again my condolences on the tragedy.
