Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
It was a great week, but I only read two books. I spent most of one day reading my second book, which was so lovely I lost myself in it. Now my eyes are tired, but I have that satisfying feeling of time well spent. Here I am, showing off the beautiful cover:
I enjoyed time with my granddaughter Fiona, who helped around the house while we chatted about our lives. Here she is wearing a T-shirt I bought to show off a favorite icon (RBG):
On Amazon Prime this week: Instant Family, and a Season 3 Episode of The Good Fight, on CBS-All Access.
Now I am ready for a nap, but instead…I’ll grab another cup of coffee and take a closer look at the week.
LAST WEEK ON THE BLOGS:
Tuesday Excerpts: “California Girls”
Tuesday Potpourri: Bookish Events, Etc.
Coffee Chat: Family Time, Etc.

That’s always great when we get lost in a story Laurel! And seeing your grand daughter I am missing my great grand mother. I was close to her and loved helping her mowing the grass and cooking some preserve. Happy Sunday!

I’m happy to see how much you enjoyed Night Beach. I was looking back as the books I read back when I was first writing reviews for the books I read. I was surprised to find that almost al my reads were fiction books, and most of the fiction books were books that focused on character over plot. In recent years, I’ve gotten away from that a bit, but I think I need to read more of those sorts, to remind me of the inherent humanity of all people.

Hi Laurel : have you ever read Carla Buckley before? I was tempted to read her last novel but then never did. Let us know if you like this one. What are you watching these days? Have you ever seen the Bosch detective series on Amazon Prime? We have torn through season 1 and now are on season 2. It takes place in L.A. so we like that. Bosch is a tough guy character from the Michael Connelly books.

Thanks for visiting, Susan, and I’ve read four of Buckley’s books so far: The Good Goodbye, The Deepest Secret, The Things That Keep Us Here, and Invisible. I liked them all.
I have only watched a few episodes of Bosch, when my son and DIL were visiting…and I enjoyed it. But after they left, I got sidetracked onto other shows. I need to get back to it!
Mostly I’ve been watching movies. I watched Green Book last night, and loved it! Also, The Widow, now and then. I did see The Hate U Give on Prime. Very good! I am loving The Good Fight, on CBS All Access.
I know that watching TV and streaming services are affecting my reading. LOL.
Enjoy your week.

What a lovely reading and visiting week! I’ve been curious about Louise Candlish, but I think I may be taking a long break from psychological suspense like that, so that leaves out 29 Seconds, Joy Fielding, and Carla Buckley too, probably!
