WEEKLY UPDATES: RAINY DAYS, ETC.

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

Another week of ongoing issues, some related to the hack, but others from an entirely unexpected source.  Finally, by Wednesday, most of the banking problems were sorted.  I was able to sink into some good books, and read and reviewed THREE!  One of this week’s books earned favorite of February…and now I’m eager to see what March brings.  Today is another rainy day, but I have a good umbrella, so I’m not going to let a little precipitation keep me inside all day.

I enjoyed some Prime movies, as well as a new series on Hallmark:  The Chronicle Mysteries. My favorite Prime movie was called Four of a Kind, with shifting perspectives in a murder mystery.

Let’s grab some coffee and take a closer look at the week:

  1. Four of a Kind sounds fun- I like to settle in with a good murder mystery show now and again. 🙂 And glad everything got sorted, but sounds frustrating.

The Woman Inside looks like my kind of read haha- maybe a suspenseful one?

Glad it turned out to be a good reading week!

  2. Glad you got your hack sorted out. I got this real fishy call one time from a guy saying someone hacked into my account. And when I called the number back it was clearly someone working in an IT company and the receptionist said no one by that name worked there.

    1. Thanks for visiting, Trin, and I am now very suspicious of phone calls…or ads for software. I even changed my phone number, since I was getting repeated calls from the same hacksters!! You’d think they would make themselves scarce, since they know they’ve been outed.

Well hack are awful! But glad to hear that you could read this week and that one of them was a winner! Here it is raining often so umbrellas are needed all the time! I hope next week will be even better for you Laurel!

I hope the hacking problems are over. How terrible for you!

I have the Hallmark mysteries on my DVR, but I haven’t watched any of them yet. I’m still playing catch up with my regular shows.

Enjoy your books! I hope this is a better week for you!

    1. Thanks, Yvonne, right after the hack, my accounts were suddenly “frozen,” and I couldn’t access them. I went in to the branch and discovered that the freezing was not about the hack, but about my trust accounts and the updates that hadn’t been entered by the analysts at the other end. They didn’t get their work done, so I’m punished? Luckily our branch manager worked on it and unfroze them just in time to accept my direct deposits!

Naturally, these experiences upped my anxiety level…so now I’m relaxing with books and a new Prime series called The Widow, with Kate Beckinsale. So far I’m loving it.

  5. The word hack makes me shiver – how horrible! I hope it is cleared up for you now. I need your lovely attitude about getting out even with the rain. It is supposed to be sunny and very cold this week after today though. More chances to wear my hand-knit woolens!

Thanks for sharing the apple tart for me – yummy!

I love that apple tart. If I am remembering correctly your computer/internet gave up just a few weeks ago right? Why is the technology hating you so much these days! Sigh, I hope things and your luck get better soon!

  8. Glad to hear most of your banking problems were sorted out, that’s nothing fun to deal with. Hopefully the coming week will be even better for you!
The First Mistake sounds good, it’s one I’d like to read. I’ve heard some really good things about the author’s previous book too, but haven’t read it. Have a great week!

    1. Thanks, Kay, I am hoping this will be a better week and that my new bank card will arrive!

I love the look of The First Mistake, too. I enjoyed the previous book, The Other Woman.

      Enjoy your week, too.

  9. Can’t wait to hear about the Lolly Winston book. I didn’t read much at all in the past week because I was with my mom. Hoping to crack a book this week for sure. Our real temp is 10 below zero at the moment. Sigh.

    1. Ooh, I’m freezing just hearing about the below 0 temps! I don’t think that’s ever happened here. We get down to 20 and 30 sometimes. Lately, we are having some sunny days interspersed with the rain.

I’m glad you got to spend time with your mom. This week, I’m going back and forth between books…and one I called out as a DNF. I hate when that happens! But now I’m reading the Lolly Winston, and after a slow start, things are starting to happen!

      Have a great week, Mary.

    1. Thanks for visiting, Candace, and I also started Season One of a Prime series: The Widow, with Kate Beckinsale. It is pretty interesting.

Movies are grabbing me more than my books…but it was the weekend. I think I’ll have better reading during the week.

I may have to check out Four of a Kind.
The tart looks delicious, but mostly your post made me want to go make coffee. Why I don’t have a cup yet is beyond me.

  11. Sorry to hear you had banking issues on top of the hack. Hope all is resolved quickly. Two five star reads help to improve the week. The First Mistake sounds like it will be a good twisting read. Enjoy!

  12. Sorry to hear you were hacked! What a nightmare! Glad it’s all sorted now.

Oh i took part in the Sunday meme AND the Saturday Stacking the Shelves, but they are two different posts… it gets a bit confusing (or is it just my age?) to how many links I should leave you lol

Hope you have a better week xx

    1. Thanks, Sassy, I am glad that the hack seems over, finally, and I’m moving on.

As for the weekly updates, I combine all of them in one. It is too much to do a separate one for each…for me, anyway. LOL

      Enjoy your week.

I am so sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope you were able to sort everything out. What a nightmare though! I hope you like The First Mistake! That one interests me, but I didn’t request it. I hope you have a great weekend, Laurel-Rain!
