WEEKLY UPDATES: WE GATHERED TOGETHER…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

Thanksgiving week flew by, with family and friends joining me for good eats.  First my #2 son, his three adult children, and three other grandchildren gathered at Yard House for a pre-holiday lunch.  We had lots of good conversation, laughter, and have this photo to remind us of our time together.

On the following day, I joined some friends for a traditional turkey dinner.  As we ate and shared our stories, we reminded ourselves of how many years ago we began these gatherings:  they started way back in the early 1970s.  Some years we missed along the way, but it was great to revisit old times together.

While my week was full of such events, I did finish reading and reviewing three books.  I also enjoyed some Amazon Prime shows, like Season 8 of Doc Martin, and I also began another season of Vera.

I wrote six blog posts…and my three reviews.

Yay for gathering with family and friends! I love Doc Martin and I’m all caught up. Can’t wait for the new season but I think they film every other year so we’ll be waiting for a while. :/
Your pomegranate martini looks good! 🙂

  2. Those sound like really wonderful Thanksgiving celebrations. I noticed Katherine Center has a new one on the way. I got a little tired of Doc Martin in that last season, I think it has done its dash with me!!

    1. Thanks for visiting, Kathryn, and some of the characters on Doc Martin are beyond annoying; I don’t like Bert Large and Joe, the policeman (can we say incompetent?lol). I guess they are supposed to be funny.

I am excited about the new Katherine Center book. Enjoy your reading and your week.

  3. I am happy to hear there will be a new Katherine Center novel out next year. She’s from Houston and she is a huge favorite of mine.

I’m glad you liked Elizabeth Berg’s new book. I’ve skipped some of her latest books, but maybe this is one I need to find and read.

  4. I would love to have a long standing tradition with friends like you do. What a blessing. This year , my nephew said Thanksgiving Dinner was the best ever. It was a combination of both vegan and non-vegan options. My sister is a hero for putting that together.

    1. Thanks, Mary, I loved everything about this week….and I’m excited about the new Katherine Center book, too. It will be a while before I read it, though, since it won’t be released until next August!

      Have a great new week.

    1. Thanks for visiting, Katie, and I probably accomplished more because I wasn’t doing any of the cooking! LOL. Between restaurants and my “guest” status, I had what I consider the perfect holiday.

      Enjoy your week.

My week was a bit busy but I guess everyone had that same kind of week. Two get-togethers for Thanksgiving and two birthdays. With school still on the top of that list. It’s been busy. I am glad you had a good time with family and friends. I could use a drink myself. =)

Have a great week of reading!
