Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
As I sip my first cup of coffee this morning, I think with pleasure of my reading/reviewing this week. Three books, a “normal” number these days. They were each engaging enough to keep me settled indoors…enjoying the AC. As for my blog posts, I only wrote four (in addition to the reviews). Some weeks are like that, which is fine. I also enjoyed some movies on Amazon Prime: Helen, starring Ashley Judd, about a young woman suffering from mental illness. I viewed my usual shows, like The Affair and Sharp Objects. Last night, I enjoyed Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. I had seen it in the theater, but it was a movie I will enjoy watching more than once. Finally, on Netflix, I immersed myself in The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society, based on the book which I loved a few years ago.
Yesterday I visited my stylist (daughter), and refreshed my hair.
So…these were the high points of the week. Let’s grab some more coffee, and take a closer look:
LAST WEEK ON THE BLOGS:
Tuesday Sparks: “Whistle in the Dark”
Hump Day Potpourri: Lovely Books…
Coffee Chat: Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer…

WHAT’S NEXT?
Currently Reading: The Perfect Couple, by Elin Hilderbrand
Then I’ll reach out for some books on my TBR…after which I have two NetGalley ARCs being released in September.
When the Lights Go Out, by Mary Kubica – (9/4)
Lies, by T.M. Logan (9/11)
***
That was my week. What did yours look like? After my hair appointment, my daughter and I enjoyed a repast of Mexican food and Margaritas. There were leftovers.
***
Don’t you love when there are leftovers? And don’t you think some Mexican foods taste even better the next day? Your lunch looks yummy! Are you loving The Perfect Couple? Could that be a Hallmark Mystery? I love your refreshed look! No more issues with color allergies either…right?

Thanks, Patty, I do love leftover Mexican food…and even pizza.
This purple color has no ammonia, and therefore doesn’t react on my skin.
I barely started The Perfect Couple, but I plan to settle in with it now. The book could work nicely as a Hallmark Mystery.

You week sounds pretty perfect – except for the heat of course. I think all your upcoming books look very promising. I am generally only reading two books a week these days and very little viewing. I seem to get obsessed by quilting!

Thanks, Kathryn, I wish I had the skill for quilting, because I really love quilts. For warmth…and for decoration. I used to hang quilts over the loft railing in one of my previous homes.
Enjoy your week!

Watching You looks good to me. I feel like I’m falling behind on Lisa Jewell now lol with this- I think this is her second new book I haven’t read? I’ll have to get on these. 🙂 And An Unwanted Guest is one I’m REALLY looking forward to! Lies looks great too.
Mmm yummy Mexican food!

I hope you catch up on the Jewell books…they are so engaging. I’m also looking forward to An Unwanted Guest.
Enjoy your week.

I didn’t re-read the book, but I still enjoyed the movie. I read the book in 2009, and I think it was an Amazon Vine ARC, as I don’t have the book any more.
Have a great week.

I read Guernsey years ago and didn’t remember anything about the main plot when I watched the movie on Netflix yesterday. I loved it! And what a great cast with so many actors from Downton Abbey and even Pauline from Doc Martin! I’m kind of wanting to read the book again, but I have soooooooooooooooo many books to read before I die. LOL
My God that Mexican food looks good!!!! My favorite.

Did you enjoy The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society Netflix adaptation? It has been a long time since I read the book, so the story is a bit fuzzy.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh, I did, Tina…I read the book in 2009 and it was fuzzy, but the movie filled it in very nicely. And I ended up loving the film more than the book, since it brought the characters to us so vividly.
