WEEKLY UPDATES: MY INTERIOR WEEK…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

As I sip my first cup of coffee this morning, I think with pleasure of my reading/reviewing this week.  Three books, a “normal” number these days.   They were each engaging enough to keep me settled indoors…enjoying the AC.  As for my blog posts, I only wrote four (in addition to the reviews).  Some weeks are like that, which is fine.  I also enjoyed some movies on Amazon Prime:  Helen, starring Ashley Judd, about a young woman suffering from mental illness.  I viewed my usual shows, like The Affair and Sharp Objects.  Last night, I enjoyed Three Billboards  Outside Ebbing, Missouri.  I had seen it in the theater, but it was a movie I will enjoy watching more than once.  Finally, on Netflix, I immersed myself in The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society, based on the book which I loved a few years ago.

Yesterday I visited my stylist (daughter), and refreshed my hair.

So…these were the high points of the week.  Let’s grab some more coffee, and take a closer look:

Don’t you love when there are leftovers? And don’t you think some Mexican foods taste even better the next day? Your lunch looks yummy! Are you loving The Perfect Couple? Could that be a Hallmark Mystery? I love your refreshed look! No more issues with color allergies either…right?

    1. Thanks, Patty, I do love leftover Mexican food…and even pizza.

This purple color has no ammonia, and therefore doesn’t react on my skin.

I barely started The Perfect Couple, but I plan to settle in with it now. The book could work nicely as a Hallmark Mystery.

  2. You week sounds pretty perfect – except for the heat of course. I think all your upcoming books look very promising. I am generally only reading two books a week these days and very little viewing. I seem to get obsessed by quilting!

  3. Watching You looks good to me. I feel like I’m falling behind on Lisa Jewell now lol with this- I think this is her second new book I haven’t read? I’ll have to get on these. 🙂 And An Unwanted Guest is one I’m REALLY looking forward to! Lies looks great too.

    Mmm yummy Mexican food!

    1. Thanks, Greg, I do love the look of my “reading landscape” this week…and in the future. And yes, that food was yummy, two days in a row with leftovers.

I hope you catch up on the Jewell books…they are so engaging. I’m also looking forward to An Unwanted Guest.

      Enjoy your week.

    1. Thanks, Angelica, I always love a hair refreshing. LOL.

I didn’t re-read the book, but I still enjoyed the movie. I read the book in 2009, and I think it was an Amazon Vine ARC, as I don’t have the book any more.

      Have a great week.

  4. I need to check out the Ashley Judd film, I like her acting. And I noticed The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society on Netflix, I’ve never read the book. I find Amazon Vine books hard to resist. Happy reading and the Mexican food and margaritas look good!

    1. Thanks, Nai, I do love the Prime and Netflix movies…and even though I don’t get Vine books as much as I once did, thanks to NetGalley, I am always happy to find one I’ve been wanting.

Enjoy your week…and I did love the Mexican food and margaritas.

Your week sounds good! I wish I could have a calmer week, don’t see it in my future for the next couple of week though. 😉 Enjoy the upcoming reads. I really like Lies, and I hope you do too. Happy Sunday.

  6. I read Guernsey years ago and didn’t remember anything about the main plot when I watched the movie on Netflix yesterday. I loved it! And what a great cast with so many actors from Downton Abbey and even Pauline from Doc Martin! I’m kind of wanting to read the book again, but I have soooooooooooooooo many books to read before I die. LOL

My God that Mexican food looks good!!!! My favorite.

    1. Thanks, Intrepid Angeleno…I did enjoy the movie, too…and the Mexican food was good for two days in a row due to leftovers. LOL.

I loved that show Doc Martin…I wish there were more seasons. Sigh.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting.

I saw the Guernsey movie too on Netflix and enjoyed it. They did a good job with the movie from the book. It was entertaining. So glad you liked Clock Dance and I’m curious to hear about Three Things About Elsie. I’ve heard that is very good. Hmm. Enjoy your week & books.

  9. I like the purple highlights. Very unique! Sounds like you had an enjoyable week and that you kept cool. I am curious to see what you think of The Perfect Couple. I wanted to love it, but I just didn’t.

  10. I love the hair! I need to get mine cut – it’s to a length that really isn’t doing it any favors. I hope to read The Unwanted Guest soon. I know my library has it so I just need to place a hold. Sorry for visiting so late but I was a tad under the weather this past week.

  11. I want to watch The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society, but I think I want to read the book first. I’m thinking of borrowing the audio from my library.
And I really want to read The Unwanted Guest, I enjoyed her two previous books so much!
Have a good week, and happy reading!

I really hope the new Mary Kubica book is great. I’ve been disappointed in her last couple, but loved The Good Girl. I’ll have to try the Guernsey series on Netflix. I didn’t love the book, but suspect the series would be great company while I’m on the elliptical. Have a great week.

Leftovers are the best. No cooking involved. Though I love to cook, there are times I simply don’t have the energy. Lies looks like an interesting book. Hope you have a great week.

    1. Thanks for visiting, Cheryl, and it’s been a long while since I’ve done any serious cooking. When you live alone, the microwave becomes a good friend. LOL.

I think Lies looks good, too. Enjoy your week!
