WEEKLY UPDATES: READING, VIEWING, & OUTINGS…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

My week was a nice blend of outings, reading, and blogging.  I read and reviewed three books, and they were all so engaging that the pages seemed to fly by.  I did some of my reading with coffee at Barnes & Noble…a relaxing place to hang out.  On Thursday night, my granddaughter Fiona and I had dinner and drinks at The Cheesecake Factory.  Yes, she is now “of age.”

On Amazon Prime Videos, I watched all of Goliath’s Season II.  Captivated!  This weekend, I hope to find more to view there…and on Netflix.

The Summer Mini-Bloggiesta started yesterday…and goes through Sunday.  Here’s what I’ve accomplished so far:  Rainy Days & Mondays – Starting Line.

That was my week…a lovely balance of reading, viewing, and outings.  Here’s a glimpse of my drinks and dinner with Fiona.  I had Shepherd’s Pie with my Bloody Orange Margarita.  I brought half of my dinner home in a box for the next day.

  1. Now that’s a good week. I love the idea of a bookshop and cafe, not here for me though but if it were I’d frequent it often! Some nice downloads there. I am just going to check I read some of those reviews, not sure that I did!

  2. Sounds like a pretty good week! I love hanging out at Barnes & Noble and reading- it’s nice to read somewhere other than home. Plus snacks lol. And yay for Cheesecake Factory!

The Lost for Words Bookshop looks pretty good! Anything about a bookstore… 🙂

    That Shepherd’s Pie looks delicious!!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Greg, and I love reading and drinking coffee at B & N. And over at The Cheesecake Factory, the Shepherd’s Pie was delicious!

When I read the blurb and some reviews of The Lost for Words Bookshop, I was sold. I can’t wait to read it.

      Enjoy your week!

    1. Thanks for visiting, Deb, and sadly, I’m the only book addict. My older two sons do read, but not as avidly as I do. My oldest is a photographer/writer, so he does read a bit. My granddaughter used to love reading…and so did my youngest grandson. But their devices now consume them. Sigh.

      Enjoy your week!

  3. That sounds like a perfect week to me! I don’t go places to sit and read and sip coffee nearly often enough… must make time for a reading outing this week.

My daughter and I like to have lunch at The Cheesecake Factory at the mall. The food is always delicious and there is always enough left for another meal!

It wouldn’t be summer without an Elin Hilderbrand novel. I’m on the library hold list for The Perfect Couple. Hope you have another wonderful week!

    1. Thanks, JoAnn, I’m glad you could visit…I love going to favorite places to read and drink coffee, and I enjoy lunch and dinner outings. I don’t get to go with Fiona as often as I would like, due to her busy schedule, so when we do, it is so much fun.

Enjoy your Hilderbrand books. I still have some from last summer that I should pull forward in my Kindle.

  4. What an interesting week. I like Shepherd’s Pie and have never had Bloody Orange Margaritas, sounds good. I enjoyed a bookshop cafe across the street from the ocean up in Cape Cod last summer, the food was really good also. Happy reading this week! Anne – Books of My Heart

    1. Thanks for visiting, Mary, and I’m enjoying The Family Gathering. Yes, my two granddaughters, Fiona and Aubrey, both turned 21 on their birthdays in February! There are only two grands that are still in their teens (15). I guess that makes me pretty old…LOL.

  6. Sounds like you had a fun week. Funny how time creeps up on us and the young people in our lives become grownups before we know it. Love doggie bags. Makes spending money on eating out worth it.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Hope you have a blessed week.

  7. Seems like you had an amazing week 🙂 Surprise me is on my TBR too. I hope you enjoy it.
And I am so glad to see Educated on your review list and I am so happy that you enjoyed it too. It was such an amazing book and equally well written. That story was really heart-wrenching.
I hope you enjoy all of your new books 🙂 Have a lovely week.
