WEEKLY UPDATES: A WEEK TO REMEMBER…

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

Another great week has flown by!  A belated Mother’s Day lunch was enjoyed on Tuesday with my “daughters.”  They include my actual daughter and the two honorary ones that lived with us on and off when they were teenagers.

My eldest grandson graduated from U.C. Berkeley last weekend.  He is the first of the grandchildren to earn that honor.  Here he is with his dad, my son Brett.

I had a dental appointment this week, so there went an afternoon.  I did enjoy a dinner at Marie Callender’s afterwards, where I continued reading my second book of the week.  Yes, only two books read and reviewed.

The Handmaid’s Tale’s second season has taken us to some dark places.  But I am hooked.

Today I plan to see Book Club, with a great cast of some of my favorites:

What else happened this week?  Well, I wrote seven blog posts and two reviews.  Let’s grab some coffee and check out the details:

  1. Congrats on your grandson’s graduation! How cool. And glad you had a nice Mother’s Day as well. I am looking forward to watching Handmaid’s Tale S2 at some point- well looking forward to might be the wrong word lol- it gets so dark!- but I have to check in on Offrd and Ofglen and horrible Aunt Lydia lol.

The Book Club looks good, my mom and aunts who were visiting her went to see it last night and loved it.

Pot pie and Caesar salad sounds fab…

    1. I just got back from Book Club, and laughed so much. I can’t wait to see it again!

Yes, enjoyment is not the right word for Handmaid’s Tale, but definitely addictive.

Thanks for visiting, Greg; have a great week!

    1. Thanks, Angelica, and I guess what I missed out on with my reading I made up for in blog posts…LOL.

It’s hard to believe my first little grandson is now a college graduate! Of course, the grown-up grandchildren are much harder to hang out with these days.

      Enjoy your week!

  2. You had a busy week! I haven’t gotten into the Handmaid’s Tale yet because I haven’t been watching tv lately, but I plan on it. Glad you had a nice Mother’s Day!
I want to see Book Club, too. It’s interesting because the women are of “a certain age”, as they say so I can relate, lol. I read Every Note Played and loved it, as I do all Genova books. I also have the Scottoline book, Feared, but am holding off on reading it. Have a good week!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Rita; I won’t be reading Feared for a while, either. I try to read them within a month of their release.

      I LOVED Book Club…I laughed a lot.

Enjoy your week, and welcome back!

    1. Thanks, Shannon, I love my Disney collections, although some of them are in boxes and no longer on display…to cut down on dusting! LOL

I still display some of my favorites, though.

Book Club was a movie I’ll want to own, once the DVD or Amazon Prime version comes out. I loved everything about it!

      Have a great week!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Yvonne, and Book Club was so funny, with wonderful scenes and moments that spotlight the issues in the lives of “seniors.” It felt so real…and showed off the talents of these actors. I hope you enjoy it.

I am loving Beach Bliss. Enjoy your week!

  8. Congratulations to your grandson!! I have a dentist appointment in the morning – it’s early but I’ll be glad to get it over with. A friend wants to see The Book Club if we can figure out a time to get together. The cover of Lying in Wait is super creepy!

  9. I’ve read the Handmaids Tale but haven’t seen the TV series. Is it good? The book was quite dark but I myself was let down by lack of world building ans the slow pace… Happy reading 🙂

  10. Congrats to your grandson and what a nice Mother’s Day lunch. Sorry for visiting late this week. I sort of took an unplanned hiatus from the computer this week. I guess I didn’t realize I needed a break. Now Im trying to catch up with some of my favorite blogs.

  11. You were so productive!!! I think batch-writing will be my thing in June- sounds like it works and frees up time to read, since you got quite a bit of that done too! I honestly didn’t know there was an actual Marie Callender’s- we only get it in the freezer up here!

    1. Thanks, B Mooney, I do love a mix of writing blog posts and reading. Sorry you don’t have a Marie Callender’s restaurant. I enjoy the frozen entrees, but they’re not the same as fresh meals. Sigh.

      Enjoy your week!
