COFFEE MORNING WITH PHOTOS & LIFE MOMENTS…

It’s time for Coffee Morning, and sharing our Bookish/Not So Bookish Thoughts, with Bookishly Boisterous.

What a week!  Some great reading, and lots of FB sharing from my daughter, who is in Prague at the moment (honeymoon), but right now she and her husband may be getting ready for Amsterdam.  As some of you know, my eldest son lives in Prague.  When they arrived, though, he was in Dublin…he is a traveling photographer, doing events.

Heather, David, and my son Craig are enjoying a beer or two…or more…

Heather and David, surrounded by bones…they love skeleton art!

  • Meanwhile, back home, I’m doing a few odds and ends here on this site for Bloggiesta.  A Mini-Bloggiesta, actually, so I started early with a new theme, header, and background.  And then I changed the header again.
  • I am binge-watching, of course, although I have only finished 7 episodes of the Orange is the New Black...for some reason, I’m not loving what is happening on screen at the moment.  I keep waiting to move beyond it…I won’t say what “it” is, though, because of spoilers.
  • On the other hand, I’ve sped right through the weekly episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu.…and yesterday’s episode was the Season I finale.  Sigh.
  • I watched a Netflix movie, War Machine, starring Meg Tilly and Brad Pitt.  Remember Meg Tilly?  Some of you might recall her from The Big Chill…and a few other movies from the past.  She has basically “retired” from films until now.  But today she is on Home and Family, chatting about her break from movies, and her return to a Netflix film.
  • I’m reading The Red Hunter and The Beach Inn...yes, two books, although I must admit that the first one, a suspense novel, has me by the hair, so it’s hard to put it down long enough to read the lovely beach book.

  • In the office, with the new flat screen TV, I have Home & Family on in the background…and they are talking about shampoos that have Greek Yogurt in them…and how good that is for you.  Maybe I should try it!  It might help prevent my rashes, as I suspect my shampoos as well as hair dye.    I do love having the TV voices as a backdrop for when I’m on the computer.  I feel less isolated!

  • Something is tugging away at me…oh, yeah, the dental appointment that I canceled when in the midst of the rashes…and I haven’t rescheduled it.  I know I should do that.  Maybe today…Hmm.
  • One more photo from Prague.  There were plenty of castle photos, but I decided to share this one, from the underground train system.  Of course Heather and David loved it…the skeletons!

That’s my week so far.  What did yours look like?

  1. Looks like they are having a great time. You may have to go to a store that specializes in hair products with very few ingredients that are gentle on the scalp. There are so many chemicals in shampoos that may be irritating your already irritated scalp. I want to get to The Red Hunter! Have a great day.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Nise, and I think you are right about that. Even weeks after the last hair dye treatment, I’ve noticed irritation after I shampoo. I changed to a more gentle brand, and it’s better…but yes, I need to find something that eliminates the chemicals.

Just today, I got more photos from my daughter…they are now in Amsterdam, and those photos are amazing!

We are having a reasonably good week with much cooler weather today. We are all sitting around unable to start anything until the Comcast Dude shows up to fix a line…so we sit and watch tv and peck at our computers!

    1. I hate days of waiting for some dude to fix things…LOL. But at least you can watch some TV and work on your computers.

Glad you’re having cooler weather. We had some 80s this week….and I was happy about that. But the triple digits are headed our way this weekend.

Thanks for visiting, Patty, and enjoy your weekend.

  3. Looks like the honeymooners are having a fabulous time! How long will they be in Europe? The yogurt sounds worth a try. Let us know the result 🙂 I can have the tv on while I’m on the computer but not while I’m reading – unless the sound is off. I’m too easily distracted.

    1. Thanks, Mary, I am hoping to find some gentle shampoos, along with hypo-allergenic hair dye.

I agree that they seem to be having a great time, and their plan is to be there for ten days. Not long enough, I’m sure. They are nearing the end. They were frustrated that they were stuck in the Stockholm airport for the first 24 hours.

Like you, I can’t read with the TV on…unless it is muted. While on my laptop, I am finding that I like having the background noise.

  4. First off…. Madeline Hatter! I bought her for my daughter a few years ago because that was her favorite HEA doll. I was jealous because I hoped she would like someone else so I could have her. Of course, it’s now 3-4 years later and she handed her off to goodwill (played with condition, not for display) so I had no desire to steal her.

My sister got her Masters in anthropology in England, while she was there she did a lot of traveling. That bone chapel in Prague was definitely one of her stops!

OitNB: If “it” is what I think it is… it’s the ENTIRE season. I feel this season is capturing the spirit of the first season a little bit, but they kind of … went too big with it. I won’t lie, it did have me hooked at the end of each episode. But after I finished, I felt deflated. It wasn’t satisfying like the ends of seasons 1 and 2.

Handmaid…. I need to start up watching it again!

    1. I love the Madeleine Hatter doll, which I got FREE from Amazon Vine! Great, right? It’s almost as if they knew how much I love dolls. LOL.

Oh, no, not happy about the news about the whole season of OITNB being like the first few episodes. But I’ll keep watching, I’m sure.

      I’m loving The Handmaid’s Tale.

      Thanks for stopping by, Shannon.
