Welcome to December! And to another Coffee Morning here. In the stack above, note my rereads…and see how they are still there. I haven’t had time for them!
My week has been all about getting ready for the holidays. In spite of my earlier thoughts that I might not bring out ANY decorations this year, I did bring out a few. Check over at my Monday Potpourri: Overcoming Holiday Reluctance.
Take a peek at what I’ve done. The miniature tree on my Coca Cola table has framed photo ornaments of my grandchildren. I got those ornaments a few years ago, and haven’t updated the photos…I like the nostalgia of remembering them “then.” My little Gingerbread Bear on the middle cupboard is another old favorite.

I snapped a couple more photos to showcase my decor. Below, see the table by the window with still another miniature tree, featuring Elvis, Betty Boop, and Coca Cola mementos. On the cupboard nearby, note the Candy Cane Bear.

My sofa table went through some changes, as I had to rearrange some objects:

In the mountains a few miles from here, my niece Amy and her lovely children are having fun in the snow. America, who is eight, shows us just how much fun Mountain Magic can be.

Amy is also ready for the snow in her adorable hat and sweater. She looks like a Nordic princess, doesn’t she? Yes, I’m biased. But we do have Swedish ancestry, so she came by it honestly.

I’ll leave you with some bookish thoughts. I finished my Monthly Wrap-up for November, with fifteen books read…and two fiction favorites. A nonfiction favorite joined the ranks. Out of four nonfiction books read, it was a little hard to pick:

I think I’ll be getting out some decorations this weekend. It’s nice to feel Christmassy now it’s December

Thanks for visiting, Emma, and every year, I dread putting up the decorations—too much work, etc.—but as soon as I do, I feel the holiday spirit surrounding me.
Let’s enjoy the holidays!

What beautiful pictures of your niece’s children – I like that you don’t update everything a bit of nostalgia is good for the soul!

Thanks, Cleo, and the sweet faces of my “now grown” grandchildren who were once little ones is good for the soul. I only have two grandchildren now that aren’t adults: they are both 14 and almost 14. The time flies by.
I am a sucker for nostalgic moments.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in your home Laurel. I’m jealous. I still have to get our tree and ornaments out of storage next weekend I hope!
Thank you for stopping by my Saturday Snapshot.

Thanks, Kimberly, and I almost didn’t decorate! Sometimes we just have to do whatever we must…and the feeling follows.

Great selection of books! You’ve reminded me that I wanted to fit one more classic in this year…hmmm…I also want to finish reading the books my husband gave me for Christmas LAST year. Yeah, I’m always behind!
I’ve been hearing SO much about Hillbilly Elegy – glad to hear it lived up to the hype.
