Good morning! Last year, I did a number of book purges. You may recall that I once had two overstuffed bookshelves in this corner….along with three shelves in other parts of the room. And then, even after the books went off to the donation bins, I still had a few dolls. (Below), note that several dolls cover the top of the shelf. In the photo above, I have removed (and rearranged) a few.

In this photo, (below), note that dolls crouch along the top of the shelf—out of sight, there is another large doll that matches the one on the right end—Plus, there are a few little kitschy items….

Now the shelf has moved to a new location by the bed (to make room for my new Netflix viewing table), and some dolls have gone missing….but my favorites remain, the “hippie dolls,” along with the little old lady atop the teacup, which once lived in my office….

Clearing and purging and rearranging are ongoing activities…and they show how much my interiors are a work-in-progress.
Earlier in the week, I cleaned up the patio so I could enjoy some fun in the coolness of the morning…Here is today’s Coffee Morning with a Book....two versions:

Just to bring a little of the exterior world in today, here’s my great-niece America, plugged in to one of her devices. She will be eight on September 11. Yes, born on 9/11/08.

Last weekend, my youngest grandson Noah, age 13, enjoyed some time in the mountains (China Peak) with his mom and her fiance:

So…from my interiors to the outside world, have a wonderful holiday weekend! I plan to binge-watch Season II of Bloodline...and start reading the book pictured above, I Almost Forgot About You, by Terry McMillan.

What does your interior world look like today? Your exterior world? Whatever you do, enjoy! And be safe. This post is linked to West Metro Mommy Reads, for Saturday Snapshots.

Oh gosh I am glad I don’t have to put my interior on view right this minute, breakfast things scattered about, sewing all over the table – I’m messy at the moment!
Love your dolls especially the one on of the doll on the teacup! Gorgeous family photos, aren’t the younger generation so wonderful.

Oh, thanks, Kathryn, and deciding to post pictures motivates me to straighten up a bit…I don’t remember who gave me the doll on the teacup, but I’ve really enjoyed her. She was in the hall closet for a while…I took her out of the office/guest room when I had guests.
I think the younger generation is delightful, too…except they are TOO much into their devices…lol.

Do you rearrange something every day? It all looks lovely.

No, but it probably seems like I do. When I want to write a post, I always think I need pictures, so I do rearrange a few things for the fun of it. Thanks for visiting, Patty.

I do like purging and I think we need to occasionally do it to keep us sane. Good Job.

Congratulations on your purging. I read an article recently that said our children and grandchildren really don’t want our stuff, so we should go ahead and get rid of the excess. I’m sure that’s true. I need to follow your good example.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Thanks, Sandy, and I know that’s true because they’ve pretty much told me that…LOL. But…I’ve only gotten as far as binning them and stacking them in the garage (on neat shelves, though). The next step: actually donating or selling them. Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks for stopping by, Melinda (and for hosting); I’m sure you won’t wait as long as I did. I’ve had these things for many years…lol.

It is great to see your family. That looks such a beautiful spot where your grandson’s photo is taken.

Oh, it is, Ginny, we have some gorgeous mountains and lakes around here, although in recent years, the lakes have shriveled due to drought. We had more rain this year, so they are filling up a bit.
Thanks for stopping by.

I just spent the weekend with my younger daughter, and we were talking about how important it is to surround your self with beautiful things you love that make you happy.- books, pictures, ornaments, dolls etc. I dashed off to see her and didn’t get a chance to link my Saturday Snapshot, but it is at https://thebooktrunkblog.wordpress.com/

Thanks, Chris, I couldn’t agree more. Although I probably overdo the “surrounding myself” with things, thereby necessitating a little purging. Thanks for stopping by.
