MONDAY FROM THE INTERIOR: MAILBOX MONDAY & WHAT ARE YOU READING? — OCT. 10

LET'S CURL UP AND READ!

Grab Your Coffee!

Welcome to Monday from the Interior, where we celebrate Mailbox Monday, hosted this month by Savvy Verse & Wit; and What Are You Reading?, by Book Journey.

After a rather intense reading and writing week, I’m ready for a new one.

MAILBOX MONDAY

Here we spotlight books we’ve received this week, either for review or by purchase.

I received three books for review and purchased two.

From top to bottom:

Bogey Nights, by Marja McGraw (Oak Tree Press)

Real Women Real Wisdom, edited by Maureen Hovenkotter (Gray Wings Press) (I have two copies – one for giveaway)

Birds of Paradise, by Diana Abu-Jaber

The Language of Flowers, by Vanessa Diffenbaugh

I’m very excited about these!  What did you find in your mailbox?

    1. Oh, I agree, Lydia. I hadn’t read anything of hers for awhile, and then when I started rereading The Handmaid’s Tale, I grabbed Cat’s Eye, which I’d somehow missed. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week.

  1. I have a Doris Lessing book in my tbr pile. Can’t remember what it is called. It was one of those books I picked up simply for the author when I saw it was on offer. I read The Golden Notebook a year or so ago and I absolutely loved it. Hope you enjoy this one.

    1. I read The Golden Notebook many years ago, but it was one of those books you never forget…I bought it again last year, and I’m planning to reread it.

Another of hers that I enjoyed has a somewhat sketchy title…The Good Terrorist. But it’s really a page-turner. Thanks for stopping by, Karen, and have a great week.

    1. Oh, I hope I do, Diane. The mailbox books usually have to wait a few weeks (or at least one or two!) in favor of books ahead of them. But knowing they’re there….well, bliss.

      Thanks for stopping by.

    1. I think it will be, Mary…at least I’m sure I’ll connect with it, since it’s about growing up in foster care. I spent three decades working in that field. Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your reads.

  2. Lots to keep you busy reading there, Laurel-Rain.

I have some very exciting reads lined up, chick-lit, historical fiction, my first audio book and first YA read, just don’t know which to choose first 🙂
