Good morning, and welcome to a new week. A week of reading, blogging, and Thanksgiving.  I hope everyone who celebrates will have a wonderful time.

Monday is the time in the week when we gather around and share what we’ve discovered in our journey, and we also have the opportunity to visit a lot of blogs and add new book titles to our wish lists.

What Are You Reading? is hosted by Book Journey.

My NaNoWriMo adventures top my list, and so far, I’ve accumulated 51,374 words, which exceeds the 50,000. But I’m going to be continuing to add to the count until the day we upload our manuscripts for validation.

My reading journey this week has been enjoyable.  Here’s what I accomplished.

2)  The Dead Lie Down, by Sophie Hannah

In this thriller, Hannah seamlessly melds the police procedural with a gothic-inspired whodunit.

3)  Solomon’s Oak, by Jo-Ann Mapson

Mapson’s (Hank & Chloe) latest is an emotionally genuine if predictable story of three lonely, damaged people who find solace in one another.

    1. Oh, thank you, Teddyree….I have totally enjoyed the week, with its mix of reading and writing, my two favorite things. I even threw in some movie watching.

    1. Thanks, Sheila…I was a little worried at first, since in the past year, I’ve worked on two WIPs that I lost interest in after awhile, but one of them is still reclaimable, I think. I like taking a breather from them. After this is over, I’ll probably work on the other one for a bit before coming back to this one.

      So far, though, I’m enjoying the story. And I’m excited about the books I’m reading this week, too. Thanks for stopping by.

      As for the writing, now I’m excited to get back to it and just focus on the story instead of the word count (since I’ve made it!).

  7. I am so waving the pom pom’s for you on the nano…. Congrats….. well done..

    I picked up that Michael Cunningham book the other day in the shops and choose something else over it, please do let us know what you think of it..

    I like the premise of the the story…

    1. Thanks, EH…I am enjoying the Cunningham so far. As for the writing, it has been an incredible journey, and now that I’ve reached the word count goal, I’m planning to focus more on the writing itself.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Danielle. I am exhilarated with the achievements of the past week…and now that the pressure has eased (with the goal met), I’m planning to enjoy the writing and play around a bit with my characters. Maybe I’ll amp up their adrenaline a bit with something unexpected.

    1. Thanks, Crystal…I’m going to add some more words, too, even though I am significantly ahead of the goal number; I have a bit of paranoia about whether or not their word counter will match the one with Microsoft Word documents!

  22. Congratulations on the word count! You always have such interesting reads up. I keep meaning to check out Cunningham’s work but simply have not gotten around to it yet. Can’t wait to see your reviews!
